"this night is sparkling, don't you let it go

i'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home

i'll spend forever wondering if you knew

that this night is flawless, don't you let it go" - enchanted, taylor swift

"God, can you be any rougher?" Catherine pulled away from Johnny, sneering.

Since their kiss, the two were frustrated - they hadn't spoken about it since she had left, and neither had given any inclination of wanting to.

Johnny would hold her slightly too hard in an attempt to ground himself, and Catherine was ditzy and had her head in the clouds, preferring that than whatever the two had come to.

Johnny muttered an apology before walking backwards into a slight kneel.

"We'll just quickly try the lift," Johnny began, and motioned for Catherine to go to the other end of the room.

She obliged, rolling her eyes unnecessarily, doing a slight run-up before hesitating, resulting in the two colliding harshly and tipping Johnny back onto the floor, Catherine flailing and landing on him.

"Are you trying to kill me?" Johnny rubbed his eyes in frustration, disgruntled with her.

"Yeah, I am!" Catherine finally had enough. Johnny looked at her with wide eyes. "You managed to somehow lose Penny, and Baby, and I can't dance - nor do I want to - but I'm still trying, just so I can save your ass, and what I really want to do is drop you on it!"

Johnny stood up. "Let's get out of here, then." And motioned for her to grab her jacket.

"What?" Catherine's breathing was ragged, but she still narrowed her eyes at the man in interest.

"Come on," He urged, grabbing her wrist and pulling her forward. Catherine stiffened as goosebumps ran up her arm. Judging by the way Johnny loosened his hold for a second, she guessed he had felt the electricity too.

He was half pulling, half dragging Catherine towards her car, and she was desperately trying to keep her hood from falling away from her face.

"Hold on," Catherine glanced down as Neil, talking animatedly to one of the waiters, walked past.

"Your cousin hates me," he stated simply and quietly.

"I don't."

Johnny looked at her for a second with sad eyes before they continued walking.

"Get in the car, Cat." He stood tensely, in fear that the two would be caught together.

Catherine pulled the handle, but the door only clicked. She began to tug again, getting more and more aggressive before turning back to her date. "Uh, Johnny."

"I left the keys in the car," He cursed and pulled her out of the way. "Don't wantcha getting hurt." And he was slamming at the window with a wooden lamppost.

After the violent act, the man calmly fished the keys out before gesturing towards the front seat.

As Catherine climbed in gingerly, she smiled at him with overly flirtatious eyes. "Now, why would you care about me being hurt?"

"Cause you're my only dance partner left." He smiled lightly but tried to retain the stoic look.

Catherine acted in mock-offence, turning away from him to look out the window as the car pulled away from the resort, but she couldn't stop the grin that split into her cheeks.
