Tom yanked his arm back and tried to reason with Tord. "Tord, this isn't okay. You can't just kill people because of your feelings for me. That's not love, that's obsession."
But Tord wasn't listening. He was too caught up in his own delusions. "I'll do anything for you, Tom. I'll even kill anyone who gets in the way of us being together," he said, gripping a knife tightly in his hand.
Tom knew he had to get out of there before it was too late. He slowly reached for the door handle and made a run for it. As he ran down the street, he could hear Tord yelling his name behind him.
"I'll find you, Tom. And when I do, we'll finally be together forever," Tord shouted, his voice echoing down the deserted street.
Tom didn't know where to go or who to turn to. He was scared for his life and didn't know what Tord was capable of. All he knew was that he had to get as far away from him as possible.
