I climb my way through the bushes and trees that are taller than I am. My parents always said to stay away from the trees due to "monsters" living in them, I never believed them, but I listened because I am a good child. In the past there had been several disappearances but many thought they just ran away, or offed themselves. But when you are walking for miles and hear a branch break in the distance, you're tend to think of the most irrational things, like flesh eating monsters. Do not judge me. When I heard the branch break, I automatically took off in a sprint like my life depended on it, well actually more like there was a fridge waiting for my arrival at the end of the run. I ran and ran and ran, I ran until I had cramps in my stomach from not breathing correctly. When I stopped, I started to feel light headed and I collapsed and passed out.
When I wake up I have no clue what time it is, all i know is I am hungry, and I am still very sleepy. I feel physically drained and my throat is corse. I need water. I look around. I do not see anything to quench my thirst. Some how I remember that plants need water and the more moist the soil is, the closer a water source is. I bow down and start crawling on the floor like a baby, feeling under the leaves and mosses. And to my surprise the soil is really moist.
But before I can star looking for my source, I hear a door shut in the distance. The engine continued to roar, and I here food steps coming close. I think as quick as I can, and I start looking for a bench or an isolated place in the bushes, just about anything I could make do with. When all else failed I dunked behind a near by pine tree.
Find her and bring her to me alive.
I shivered at the words that were said. They were spoken by a female with a emotionless voice. THe words that were said were sharp and cold orders. I heard the foot steps of the Militants of Grace. I tried to quietly bury my body deep in the large pine tree. Then I heard a snap of a branch behind me- I quit moving hoping no one heard. All of a sudden a black boot appeared in front of me. I held my breathe, trying to not move, to not make a sound. More boots soon appears surrounding the tree. I slowly started to see red lasers pointed at me. And then "Barice, dependable of Hope, come out, and you will not be harms."
Like I said no education- I thought to myself.
I slowly crawled my body out of the place I crawled into. The sun was just appearing over the horizon. And I saw a female standing in the front. She was the only woman here besides me. She was in a suit and had a laptop. She walked confidently toward me, stopping about 3 feet away. She held out her hand and place the laptop on top. As she opened it. A video appeared. It was Delsa, beaten and crying. She looked terrified. I could see pain in her tear filled eyes. In all of the years of knowing her I had never seen her cry. She held a paper it stated:
Please if you want me to live you have to listen and obey the Militants of Grace. She would have never held a paper that said that. She would die before anything like that. She never wanted anyone to risk their life for hers. She did not thing that she was that important for another person to risk their life. But she is. She is such a good person. The only way that she would have held that paper is if they forced her or threatened to harm someone that she loved. I want to understand why they are hurting such a genuine and kind person like Delsa, she has never had a run in with the law. Unlike me. But that is for later. They cannot do this to her. She did not do anything to her.
