Leaves on branches sway as the wind rushes through the trees. The grass beneath me also flows with the direction of the wind.
I hear footsteps, not ones that I know. Different footsteps, definitely not ones I've heard before... i can't make out what though.

"Hey. Are you ok? You've been lying here a while..." I hear as my eyes start to open and adjust to the lighting of being outside in a... field? Forest? Huh? Where the fuck am I?
I fully open my eyes to... this... orange weasel, otter looking thing staring worryingly down at me... I look at it with a startled expression on my face.

The otter started to grow anxious.
"Ok, look, I'm sorry, I don't think I'm meant to be here!" I said without thinking.
It looked at me a little confused. "Not meant to be here? Ok... anyways, I better introduce myself so I'm not a total stranger. The name's Jay, I'm a Buizel."

I nodded in understanding.
"Right... I'm Ali. Uh, it's nice to meet you, I guess."
I take a look at myself as I try to stand and realise that I have to be on all fours.
A look of horror enters my face.
"What on this bloody planet am I?!"

"You... are a Vulpix... did you not know that?"

I looked at him with a look as if to say 'are you fucking joking?'
"Yeah... because I woke up and knew exactly what I was! No I obviously don't know that!"
Jay didn't know how to react... does he not understand sarcasm?

Jay sat on the grass. "So there's a town over there which is rumoured to be a ghost town.

I get excited by the thought, smile, then start making my way over to it.

"Wait, you're seriously going to it?" Jay looked surprised, almost as if he didn't want to go anywhere near this ghost town

I laughed a little. "Are you scared?"

Jay's face quickly turned from shocked to a little annoyed very quickly. "No! I'm not scared! Come on! I'll show you how not scared I am!" He demands with a spring in his step.

Upon arrival at the town, we seem to find that perhaps Jay was right. Nobody seems to be here at all!

Jay and I hear a rustling in a tree close by. Jay tries to act cool and like some kind of a leader, "stay quiet. We don't know what it could be".

I aimlessly walk towards the tree, "if it was a trap, we both would've been caught by now!" A small bird falls out of the tree and lands on me, making me fall the ground in pain.

"Ali! Are you ok?" Jay hastily walked over to me concerned about both me and the bird.

I got back up on my feet and looked at the small bird, who had also just gotten back up. "What the hell are you?"

I saw Jay look at me as if to say that I should maybe not just straight up ask Pokemon what they are. I guess he isn't wrong. I don't want to just give away the fact that I'm supposed to be a human after all.

"Well, I'm a Pikipek, obviously. Being a pokemon yourself, I thought you would've known that, silly!" He laughed a little. He seems pretty cool with it rather than offended by anything so that's good!

Jay decides to finally speak up "What's your name by the way? I'm Jay and this is Ali"

"I'm Sebastião! But, you can call me Seb if that makes it easier" he says with a smile of reassurance.

We all carried on talking and getting to know each other better whilst also looking around the abandoned town.
It does seem quite creepy that there's nobody here. Especially as I'm used to living in a city where it's usually flooded with people... people that... I don't see anymore, I haven't seen a single human since I saved my brother from being hit by that van.

I'm so confused, how did I suddenly end up here? Did I die? Will I ever see another human again? Will I forget my old life and does this become my new life?

As I'm lost in these thoughts, I feel a small, dark presence behind me.
