Desolation's alley revisited twice.
By james a. galgano
Cast like worn stones between the shadows of endured duress.
Woven within pangs of a hungering sorrow unwilling to confess.
That the common routines of life have eroded heart soul pass to bone
Revealing the path taken when sanity has taken flight far from home.
Where once upon some now almost forgotten laughter kept one from going astray
Into dark forest of imploding memories now gathering thorns not rosebuds today
The scent of burnt ashes offered in hope that no longer sacrifice be needed to divine.
A needed escape route from a disparate life no longer needing recourse from time.
Passing quickly behind each fleeting storm cloud approaching impending doom
Where hope passes upon each burning coal strewn before like a red carpet replete
With dire consequences aplenty offering few escape routes presaging dire defeat
Whose bitter taste still lingers upon reminiscing taste buds devouring every soul.
Cast like battered premonitions separated by miscast shadows beyond control.
