Prologue

The coffee cup shattered as it hit the floor. A twisted smile played on my lips as I sipped my own cup. The man's thick scarred hands clawed at his throat as the wolfsbane devoured tissue – the beast within him burning. I would pay for this one day, I accepted that, but for now I drank the bitter coffee as the man across from me fought against his fate. His gray eyes stared at me in horror, questioning.

"Threefold," I replied, to his inquiring stare.

Realization crossed his face, it was all I needed. I walked out of the office as his body crashed to the floor with a gurgling breath.
