I Love You [HIGHSCHOOL AU]

Chapter 1

Miko's POV

I woke up at 4:50 AM, not bothering to even sit up straight, opening my phone. I smile as I glance at my wallpaper. It was a picture of me and Ei. Instead of always laughing at the wallpaper like usual, this time, I only took a glance at Ei at the wallpaper.. I've had a few times of feeling something when I see her, Ei.. All I could think about is Ei--Ei..Ei..I was daydreaming about her, hiding my face with both of my hands, blushing at the scenarios I was thinking about the two of us, snapping out of it as I hear a notification. I quickly check to see who it was from, only to see my best friend send me a message. The message was, "Miko, open up, check the time, our class starts at 5:10." I get confused, checking the time to notice its already 5:00, in a hurry, I forget to eat and take a shower as fast as I could, wearing my school uniform, going downstairs, forgetting my stuff. Panting, I open my door. "Hey Ei!" I say, still catching my breath before I feel her fix my tie. "Miko. I was just kidding. Our class starts at 7:00." Ei says while laughing softly. I instantly blushed in embarassment. "Silly..there's still much time..You wanna come in and hang out?" I ask, waiting for a few seconds until I hear her speak up. "Sure..but that hanging out should be studying. Remember? We have an exam?" Ei says as I groan in disappointment. We enter my room, and took our books. "Ei~ Can you study me for the Biology Exam?" I asked with a playful tone. An hour and 30 minutes had  passed and it was now 6:30. We thought of walking to school so we did, while walking, I didn't notice a car moving behind me, until I hear its horn, I instantly blushed as I feel Ei's arms wrapped around my waist to save me from getting run over, we faces were so close. "Are you okay?" Ei asked with such a soft tone that made me melt deep inside. "U-Uh yes..I am. Thank you, Ei." I stuttered a little for enjoying her beauty. Smiling, we continued our walk to school with our hands intertwined. We entered our classroom, seeing that our desks weren't close like usual, because its exam week. I frown and sigh softly, but still grateful to have her beside me. Our exam papers get passed to us, as I stare at the exam paper in disbelief, knowing I don't know the answers because I wasn't focusing on the study with Ei earlier..I was focusing on her voice and her looks. I start answering to some of the questions I find that I've only listened to, only completing half of the exam, which was 60 items. When the teacher left, I hurriedly pass a note to Ei. "Ei. Whats the answer to number 31?" I said in the note, seeing her write on it, getting the piece of paper back and reading it. "Miko. This is literally the easiest question. We studied this. Figure it out yourself." I frown and let out an exasperated sigh,  we pass notes some time to time, only to see if she'll give in and give me the answer, we did it everytime the teacher wasn't looking..Here, I am passing the note back to Ei for the 11th time, the teacher calling us both to detention. Everyone stared at us as we left.

Ei's POV

I was irritated at Miko who kept on passing me notes, I was fine with it until she got us both to detention. Now we have to stay in detention for a long period of time. I decided to give her the silent treatment as a way to show my anger. After 30 minutes, I hear her speak up. "Ei..Whats with the treatment? You're so quiet.." She says with a sad tone, noticing a frown on her face. I just ignore her and roll my eyes. For about an hour, Miko keeps bothering me whilst I stare at the wall, zoning out. "Hello?" Miko said with an annoyed tone. "Huh? What?" I said confusingly, before groaning aa I realized I talked to her. "Finally, you talked to me!" I hear Miko start blabbering about how she hated the exam, wherein I just let out a sigh, and listen like always. After waiting for a long period of time, we come back to the classroom, everyone gone because they're in the cafeteria, but this time, we take the exam. The teacher glaring at us. I notice Miko taking quick glances at me sometimes, wondering why but maybe its just to think..Or another way for zoning out. After 30 minutes, I finish my exam along with Miko. We finally get to go to the cafeteria, meeting up with some of our friends, then we pick a table, of course, we sit together, as everyone is busy chatting and away. I munch on the bread the lunch lady gave me. Miko suddenly speaks up randomly. "Ei, do you have a crush?" Miko asks whilst blushing. "Mhm." I say, finishing my bread and eating the spaghetti. "Who? Who??" Miko says excitedly. "Kujou Sara." I say, eating before finishing. I notice a slight change with her expression. She seems less cheerful.."Oh..I see." Miko says, sounding quite disappointed. I scratch my head confusingly before noticing there was dango milk for sale. "Oh! Lets buy Dango Milk." I say happily, standing up, feeling her intertwine and lock her arm against mine. We walk together and buy Dango milks, each for both of us..After drinking, we hear the bell ring, so we return to our classroom, noticing our desks are together now. We sit in our chairs, some of our classmates are still missing but then they come back to class shortly.
