I walked into the room. It had a strange feeling about it. No matter how many cases you do, you never get over that feeling that lingers around when someone has died. I looked around the room and it looked like a tornado came through. I walked over to the dead body. It was a kid no more than 20 years old. The examiner walked over with a gloomy look on his face. He told me the kid died from a single gunshot to the back of the head, execution style. He also told me that there were some defensive burses and that he died between noon and 2pm yesterday. I started to look for some clues around the room. I looked for an hour and not a single clue came up, except that it was not a break in, which means that he most likely knew his killer. I next decided to search the body for some Identification. I had found his wallet in his pocket. When I checked it, it still had all the money and credit cards in it. At that point I knew it was not a robbery. I looked at his id and it said his name was Robert Kennedy.  He was 19 years old and had just got his license. As I was searching his body I found a .38 caliber bullet stuck under his body.  After I had put the bullet in a bag for analyses, I knew what I had to do next. I knew it was going to be the hardest thing for me. I had to go talk to the parents of Robert Kennedy. I have never been good at talking to the parents of the people who have died. I pulled out my phone to call my partner Angela. She had been my partner for only a couple of months, but she has already saved my life. I called her and asked her to please meet me at Roberts's parents' house. She said that she is heading there right now. I put up my phone in my pocket and stood up. Before I left the examiner walked up to me and told me that he found some skin under Roberts nails. He said that he would give me the results of the tests he is going to run right when they get done. I nodded my head and then I left.

I arrived at the parents' house in about fifteen minutes. I parked the car and waited for Angela. As I was waiting I was hesitant to even get out of the car. I always froze when I spoke to victim's family members. I always thought that it was because I never liked to see there sad faces when I told them. That's was why I always let Angela tell them the bad news. I always felt bad for that, but most of the time she volunteered for me. I waited for twenty minutes and she never showed up. I knew I had to do this so I slow got out of the car and closed the door behind me. I started to walk over to the door. My legs were shaking the whole way. I reached the door and was about to knock when I heard a car role up. I turned around and I saw Angela roll up. She quickly got out of her car and ran over to me. She told me that she was sorry that she was late and that there was traffic. I thanked her for coming and knocked on the door. We waited probably thirty seconds before Mrs. Kennedy opened the door. She thanked us for coming and pulled us in. she directed us to the couch and called for her husband. We sat on the big couch while she sat on the chair across from us. She once again called for her husband. We asked her how she knew we were arriving. She said that she called the police about her son being missing and that she thought we were the police that were coming over. Angela and I look at each other at the same time. I look back and was about to say something when Mrs. Kennedy got up. She told us that she was going to get her husband and she was going to be right back. It was not more than ten seconds when we hear someone scream. We run into the other room to see Mr. Kennedy on the ground and Mrs. Kennedy on her knees crying. I thought I don't know why, but I feel like this is not over.

The police were here in minutes. I had also called an ambulance for Mr. Kennedy. I decided to talk to Mrs. Kennedy to see if she saw anything. I walked over to her and asked her if she saw anything. She told me that she saw a man in a black hoodie jump out the window when she came in. she also said that he had a gun in his hand and that it looked like a .38 caliber revolver. I thanked her for the information and walked over to Angela. I told her that this man was most likely the same guy who had killed Robert yesterday. I checked the body and it looked like a hit from a blunt weapon, most likely from the butt of the gun the guy had. I than checked the room for some evidence that would put us in the right direction. I searched for what was thirty minutes and found nothing once again. After the second time I knew this guy had probably done this many time before and that this guy was a pro. Angela walked over to me and said that the ambulance was here to pick up Mr. Kennedy. I asked her to please go with the ambulance and get as much information from Mrs. Kennedy and if she would not mind please get information about her son. She told me that she would do it and said that I owed her one. I thanked her and she than left with the ambulance. I stayed to get some things rapped up and then I left for the precinct.
