Summary: Mina and Chaeyoung are friends who slowly come to realize they're more than besties. (Honestly just basically Mina being way too down bad for Chaeyoung 😞)

It's an accident the first time it happens.

The only reason why it happens is because Mina is caught off-guard, she's easy and extremely weak and she has the softest spots for Chaeyoung's pretty grin and eye-smile.

It really worries her how easy she is when it comes to Chaeyoung, but what can she do. What can she do?

They both have an off-day today, and Chaeyoung's chosen to spend her Sunday afternoon at Mina's catching up with extra work. She's hanging off her bed, dangerously close to the floor as she works on her article.

She's asking about Mina's new book, what is it about and who are the characters. She's absorbed, listening to Mina explain the plot and how she's enjoying it so far, and then Mina keeps reading and Chaeyoung is working and then-

There's a thud, coming from in front of Mina, and then complete silence.

This catches Mina's attention and she looks away from her book, sees that Chaeyoung is on the floor, blinking sleepily.

Chaeyoung groans, murmuring words Mina can't quite catch and then-just stays there, actually, Mina kids you not. She's placing her head down on the floor as if now's the time to sleep and that's where she'll be sleeping.

"Chaeyoung, oh no." Mina isn't able to stop her laugh. "Darling."

"No, 'm good. Still working." Chaeyoung murmurs. "Still working, Mina leave me 'lone." She lets out an exhale, yawning, and just when Mina thinks she's about to stand up, she does the opposite.

Chaeyoung's making herself comfortable on the ground, and it reminds Mina of that gif Momo sent her earlier, that little girl dropping everything and just choosing to sleep on the beach just because she can.

The sight of Chaeyoung like this has Mina feeling fond, fond.

"That's... you're not working, Chaeyoung. You're falling asleep," Mina says. "Not on my bed. You're on the floor," she explains, getting up and walking towards her best friend. She bends down, knee on the ground, observing Chaeyoung.

Chaeyoung frowns and mumbles something that Mina doesn't catch. Mina tilts her head.

"Chaeyoung? I didn't quite catch that."

"I'm good, I'm awake," Chaeyoung whispers and Mina smiles and laughs, tilts her head and thinks to herself, oh god, Son Chaeyoung, and also Mina is not ridiculously endeared right now-

Shaking her head, she looks up and sees a soft smile adorning Chaeyoung's features.

"Your laugh, Mina," Chaeyoung says quietly, voice thick with sleep, and raises her hand as if to reach out to Mina. It never comes to Mina, because it just drops back to her side. "I like it. Like it a lot."

Mina blinks. She forces her voice to work. "Hey, come on. You can't sleep like that." She touches Chaeyoung's cheek, then helps the very sleepy Korean get to the bed. Chaeyoung tugs at Mina's hand then, and Mina sort of loses her balance. She falls, finds herself on top of Chaeyoung, and wonders how that happened so fast and smoothly.

"All right. Take a nap with me then?" Chaeyoung asks, ears pinking.

"What?" Mina whispers.

"You were working without taking a single break earlier-you should rest your eyes a little now," Chaeyoung explains. "Reading doesn't count as a break. We could both really use some rest. I mean, I know I could."
