"Izuku...? Earth to Izuku..." Inko squeaked, her son was absentmindedly eyeing his dinner like it was staring back at him. Judgmentally.

Midoriya belatedly realized he'd been deep in his head, eyes shot wide, his hand fumbling with the utensil before it could successfully slip from his dazed grasp. "H─ Huh!? Yeah, mom...? Is something wrong?" 

I can't keep letting that villain's words get to me. It's what she wants... my fear.

"Izuku... I─" His mother starts, undoubtedly studying his form in the blink of an eye. Analyzing the boy's physical attitude, emotion, and well-being. She takes a few extra seconds before continuing steadily, "Therapy?"

"Mom!" Midoriya whined with objection, with a hitched breath he exhaled and lowered his tone considerately. "I'm fine, Mom. Honestly! Remember the sludge villain? I got over that after a few months, plus villain attacks happen daily... and All Might was there to protect us, as usual."

"But in a hero school? Izuku, I let you enroll because it's your dream... but after a week, you get attacked in a place that's supposed to keep you safe!?" She panicked and exclaimned her worries.

Midoriya recalled for a split cold moment, he knew well enough she almost fainted at the mere mention that one of his classmates was shot, he knew Mr. Aizawa's current state would surely push her over the edge. Uraraka... I'll have to visit, she's in the hospital after all...

"I'm safe mom, look at me!" He reassured his mother with a weak grin, even flexing his left arm to display promising muscular growth. "I have a quirk now, remember...?"

-"...Oh, I remember."

Midoriya flinched violently and shot to his legs, whirring around to the distinct voice, swallowing his food mid-chewing as it tumbled down his throat unpleasantly.
