We all know as Christians that we are not a part of this world. In Romans 12:2, Apostle Paul addresses the Romans. He tells them " Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2 NIV). This verse applies to all Christians. Apostle Paul is saying that we are NOT a part of this world, therefore we shouldn't think, talk, or act like the people of this world. As children of the Most High God, we should carry ourselves like the kings and queens we are. People should know that we are different in how we dress, talk, walk, and behave.

In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, it says " Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."(1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV) I know that it can be hard to not fit into the crowd. But, you my friend, were cut from a different cloth. You were meant to be different. You may feel alone or even scared, but God has told us not to fear because He is with us. (Deuteronomy 31:8) (Psalms 23:4)

Having good Christian friends can also help you navigate the world. Having that support system on Earth is amazing. Your friends can hold you accountable and you can hold your friends accountable. You also have to be careful with the worldly friends you keep also. In 2 Corinthians 6:14, it says "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" Apostle Paul is telling us here that having worlding friends as a Christian is like mixing oil and water. They just aren't compatible, speaking from experience. When I was a baby Christian, God made me realize that the friends that I kept where holding me back from growing in the Lord. After I cut some people off, it was then I started growing in the Lord. How can you try to fly a plane with heavy cargo? It is only when you offload the excess cargo, is when the plane can begin to fly. Always remember, God loves you!
