—(PICTURE ABOVE NOT MINE)—
The air was icy...walking to school wasn't the best idea in the middle of November. My legs became numb as I treaded through the thick and heavy snow. Crunch. Crunch. Slosh. Same old sounds, filling my ears.
I wasn't wearing a coat or whatnot. I never did. I'm wearing a cool shirt and black pants. Average. I'm just an average person. At least, thats what they think.
"Hey cock-knocker!" I froze, just like the ice building up on the curb, overflowing to the mound on snow on the dead grass. I sigh, and keep walking. I turn towards the direction of Wendingdale Highschool, wanting to just head to where the warm resides. "Don't ignore me, bitchboy!" Oscar, the school star and overrated, stereotypical dick athlete and his stereotypical, slutty cheerleader girlfriend, Cassie, who sneaks behind his back and bangs every dude in sight. "Come here, you fag."
I flinch, and stop. I turn, they were right behind me, and then, the beating happened. I had a strange feeling, though. It was as if, someone was...watching me. How I wished they would help.
I was forcefully snapped out of my thoughts when I felt the air leave my lungs as I fell and heard a loud crack. As I opened my eyes, they were clouded with tears. I struggled to breathe, the icy air making it difficult. I started to feel liquid rushing from my nose and I tasted metal, which I assumed was blood.
As I tried to get up, my body wouldn't respond to my orders, and my vision became disoriented and it started to spin, making me feel nauseous. Before I could acknowledge what happened, my vision faded into a dark abyss.
"Hmm...ughh.." my eyes fluttered open, but quickly squinted shut due to bright lights. "Mmmh...bright..." I mumbled and shifted. "Agh!" I groaned slightly. My head felt like it was about to split open. Like, a fever headache times a million. I opened my eyes again, bracing the light.
"Is...anyone here..?" I heard a rolling chair squeak. "Hello, Y/N. How are you feeling, dear?" A sweet and gentle voice ringed through my ears. "My head feels like it's about to burst open." I say, plainly. I heard a small chuckle. "You have a concussion, darling. That's why." I heard the voice again. It was Ms. Livingston, the school nurse. "A...concussion?" I question. "Yes." She replied, and I faintly see a smile.
My vision is extremely blurry and disoriented, like before. I couldn't even see her face or make out any shapes. I sighed, and closed my eyes, my fingers twitching ever-so-often.
There was silence for a while. "Y/N, do you remember who did this?" Ms. Livingston asked, breaking it. I thought long and hard, then everything came rushing back and hit me like a bullet. "Yeah... I do. It was Oscar and his girlfriend, Cassie." I stumble over some words but whatever. "Thank you, dear. I will get everything cleared up and reported so we can take immediate action. I have already called your parents, they will be here shortly." She left it at that. She got up, wrote things down, and exited the room.
I was dreading meeting my parents, knowing they would just lecture me and tell me how my siblings were much better. I closed my eyes, resting. Before I know it, I fall into a deep slumber.
