The summer that turned bad 🦈

1996

I and Jessie ran to the ocean laughing.

"Wait up," Jessie yelled as I was running faster

"Hurry up slow poke," I yelled

I ran straight into the ocean and Jessie went in right behind me. I started to splash water at Jessie and he splashed water back. We decided to take my aunt's boat to swim in the middle of the ocean.

"Let's go this was an awesome idea," said Jessie

"I know right," I said 

We weren't in the water for too long until we saw something in the water I was curious about what it was so I swam a little closer and I immediately swam away after I got a glimpse of what it was. 

"S-SHARK!!" I yelled in panic

"SWIM JOHANNA HURRY!" Jessie cried out loud 

"COME ON JOHANNA SWIM!!" Jessie said

"I'M TRYING," I said

" IT'S COMING HURRY!" Jessie said

I swam as if my life depended on it because it did the shark was right up on my tail, and I was scared for my life. I reached out for Jessie's hand and he helped pull me up onto the boat.

"Are you ok," Jessie said

"Yeah, I'm fine let's just hope that the shark doesn't come back," I said

"Yeah," Jessie said

*The boat shakes*

"W-What was that," I said

"Shit I think it's back," I said

"We have to go now," Jessie said

"Let's go," I said.

"The boat isn't fucking starting," Jessie said

"That's not good," I said as the boat shook more.

Me and Jessie were scared for our lives we didn't know what to do since this has never happened to us before and our parents never told us what to do if we make contact with a shark. I held on to the boat terrified that it would tip over. 

I could feel the shark crashing into the boat hoping for it to tip over me and Jessie didn't know how much longer we could hold on without falling over. For the last time, the boat finally tipped over me, and Jessie was now more terrified than ever we knew that if we wanted to make it out alive that we would have to swim for our lives.

"COME ON WE HAVE TO SWIM OUT QUICK!" yelled Jessie

I and Jessie started to swim.

After a while, the shark stopped following us, me and Jessie kept swimming though because we found out that we were lost and hoped that we would be able to find our home but no luck. 

             2 days later

Me and Jessie found an Island we decided that we would stay there for the night and create a raft in the morning. I gathered some fruit from the trees for us to eat and some wood to help keep us warm. Jessie wanted us to take turns sleeping just in case something happened he said that I could sleep first and if he heard something he would wake me up and we could both investigate it.

          In the Middle of the night

Jessie woke me up because he said that he heard something coming from the woods at first I didn't believe him but then I heard it, it sounded like a scream a girl's scream. I and Jessie started to walk into the woods until the screaming got louder and louder every second. I stopped walking to see which way the screaming was coming from then I felt something on the ground.

"Jessie come here," I said

"What is it?" Jessie said

"I feel something on the ground do you think you can help me?" I said

"Sure," Jessie said

Jessie grabbed hold of the secret door and pulled it open and what I saw when I looked in there scared me half to death. A girl about my age maybe a little older came out but it wasn't that, that scared me it was that there were 4 other kids in there that looked like they were starving me and Jessie gave them some of our food. The girl that first came out came up to me and hugged me and thanked me and Jessie for saving them all.

"My name is Ira," said the girl

"Nice to meet you, Ira, I'm Johanna and this right here is Jessie," I said

"When are we going to go home?" said Ira

"We don't know," said Jessie

"What do you mean?" asked Ira

Me and Jessie looked at each other

"Well me and Jessie swam here and when we heard your screams we decided to help," I said

"Oh," Ira said

"I have an idea!" Ira said 

"What's your idea?" Jessie said

"We should find things to help us build a raft!"

"That's actually a good idea," I said
