Chapter 7:

It's been a week since the uncomfortable mishap at the bar and Atsushi and Satoru haven't spoken to each other since, they do bump into each other every now and then but they figured it was best to ignore one another. There were times when Gojo wanted to talk to Atsushi, but she made it very clear she didn't want anything to do with him. At least, not now,

Atsushi has been spending her days training the 3 first-year students in both hand-to-hand and armed combat.

And she was very much impressed with Maki's fighting abilities despite being a non-sorcerer, it was questionable how she remained a grade 4 sorcerer with her skills, but Atsushi didn't want to pry into the Zenin family's business,

"How about you go against me for a change?" Atsushi offered as she grabbed a spare polearm from the side, she wanted to test how good the Zenin girl is and how can she help make Maki unstoppable,

"That wouldn't be fair, you're still injured," Maki replied, denying the challenge, not sure whether she was concerned with Atsushi's wellbeing or was just being smug like she usually is,

Atsushi's condition has improved a lot these past few days but she still had a broken arm and a broken rib so fighting would be difficult, Although the former sorcerer was confident she could manage to put up a good fight against Maki,

"Sweetheart, even if I'm injured, you're still at a disadvantage," Atsushi said as she spun the polearm with her good hand and went into a fighting stance. That remark completely pissed off the grade 4 sorcerer but she loves a good challenge and couldn't pass off the opportunity to fight a special grade who excels in short-range combat,

The two weapons experts went head-to-head with each other, Toge and Panda were in awe with how intense the fight between the two was. Despite not using her ocular jujutsu, Atsushi was able to predict Maki's movement just by looking at how her muscles contract. And Maki, who was also skilled in armed combat, was also able to keep up with the former sorcerer,

Eventually, Atsushi was able to make first contact with Maki, resulting in her win.

"I guess I have a lot more to learn," Maki said in between breaths, exhausted from their little sparring match,

"I want to teach you something," Atsushi said as she approached Maki, "Watch my arm," She instructed the student who carefully watched her arm contract, "Based on my arm's muscle contraction, which direction do you think it will move?"

"You're going to lift your arm up?" Maki answered but was unsure whether she was right,

"Good, how about my this," Atsushi continued to give Maki some pointers, asking her what Atsushi's next move was going to be based on her muscle movement. Maki was quick to pick up the slightest details, which left the former sorcerer quite impressed,

"Okay, now try blocking me," The ravenette continued to instruct Maki who diligently followed as her teacher said, Atsushi was wearing a tracksuit so it was pretty impossible for Maki to read how her muscles would contract since it was covered with clothing, Atsushi jumped up and easily bonked Maki in the head with the polearm "Reading muscle contraction is easy if the muscles are exposed, but if the opponent is fully-clothed like me, there is another way to predict their movements,"

"And what is that?" Panda asked, he was also paying attention to the lesson along with Toge,

"Tsunamayo~" Toge added,

"Through their breathing," Atsushi answered the students' queries, "It may not be as accurate as reading their muscle movement but if you observe the opponents breathing and eye movement, there's an 85% chance you can accurately predict your opponents' next move,"
