Disaster In The Dark - Murder Mystery Assignment

TRIGGER WARNING: THIS STORY CONTAINS BLOOD AND SELF STARVATION

Sixteen highschool students were put into a cruise ship for a field trip. At first, things were calm, tame even! But things turned upside down when one of the students noticed another, Rocky, wasn't eating his meals. Concerned, they asked him if he was alright. Rocky swept it underneath the rug and told them he was fine. He never ate, despite his classmates encouraging him to eat at least something.

 
His best friend, Melinda, stayed by his side the whole time, doing her best to encourage him. Still, Rocky never ate. Two weeks later, Rocky began to act weird. He was constantly twitching and letting out small hisses, but then telling the people around him to "Ignore that" right after. The class was starting to get really concerned because of his unusual actions.

Another week had passed. It was Tuesday, 4 in the morning. Suddenly, a whole bunch of noises can be heard from Rocky's room. Everyone was awoken by the commotion. Mint decided to check on what was happening. He left his room and went to Rocky's door, putting his ear against it. He noticed that Rocky didn't sound like himself. Astro got involved and asked if they can open the door, Mint decided to let them do their thing and had them open the door. What greeted the duo was...

Astro soon found Rocky on top of them, hissing and trying to bite them. However, Astro was strong enough to fight him off, immediately kicking him off them and pinning him against the floor on his belly. Zahra got involved and helped Astro out.

 
The three spoke to each other as Rocky struggled underneath. More students left their room to see what the commotion was all about. Specifically, Melinda and Christopher were the most shocked. Especially Melinda, who was on the bridge of tears. This interaction soon happened.
Fakeeha, one of the students: "What happened, why is he acting like that?"

Arlo: "I d-don't know, but h-he seems t-t-to be- Feral"

Zahra: "Yeah, I just saw him trying to attack Astro and I knew I had to help"

Mint looked over to Christopher and Melinda, and gulped.

 
Mint: "Uhm- What about you guys? You know, or I guess knew, Rocky longer than the rest of us combined."

Melinda: "Well- We never told you guys about this, but- Before the three of us got here, we went to a different high school together. You remember Stonewall High school, right?"

Astro: "You mean... The school that somehow got zombies all over Perris?"

 
Christopher: "Actually, it all began at the waterpark nearby."

Melinda: "But it began to really spread at Stonewall"

Christopher: "Right- But Rocky, Melinda and I were at that waterpark. Rocky was the first to get infected, but he remained asymptomatic for a while. I thought he'd stay like that forever, but I guess not"

Anonymous Student: "Wait a second- So let me get this straight, Rocky was a zombie the entire time we were here?!"

Melinda: "Yes, but the reason neither Christopher and I never killed him was because we both trusted him to control himself, and continue his usual diet"

Mint: "Then- Doesn't that mean that eating was keeping him from turning? He's been starving himself since we got here and-"

Mint looked over and watched as Rocky continued to struggle underneath Zahra and Astro, desperately scratching at the floor. He awkwardly looked back at the two.

Fakeeha: "What should we do with him now that he's a zombie?!"

Arlo: "I say w-we lock him i-in his room a-and tie him up, j-j-just i-in case"
