Lori Harvey Imagine
"I got no excuses
For all of these goodbyes
Call me when it's over
'I'm dying inside""Wake me when the shakes are gone
And the cold sweats disappear
Call me when it's over
And myself has reappeared"-------
The tears wouldn't stop.
Grief.
It is experienced for many different reasons.
The top two are death and breakups.
It has never been an argument about which one is worse, but right now, Lori would argue that a breakup trumps death.
You have to accept the grief that comes with death because they are gone. You can't get them back, and the only way you see them is in your dreams, pictures, and if you're really good at it when you close your eyes, but eventually, all those things fade.
The grief that comes with heartbreak is filled with wants, all the what could have been's, all of the what could still be's, but at the end of the day you know it's better this way.
You have to accept that it is better that they are gone.
But she wished she didn't have to.
Heartbroken grief still has all the dreams that you see them in, the pictures you want to burn but also keep, and will keep you awake because you hate seeing all of the memories the two of you made behind your eyelids.
They both hurt but one hurts because you know they are never coming back, even if they wanted to. And the other hurts because you know they still walk on the same earth that you live on but... its better that they aren't in your life anymore.
The grieving of death is inevitable and the suffering of heartbreak is a choice but they both take a piece of you that it feels like you will never get back.
All Lori wanted was you but to have you while you were struggling the way you were was selfish and draining.
She couldn't keep ignoring that fact.
So yes, her choice hurt. It hurt like hell but she had to hope that she was making the right one.
Lori sniffled as she sat in the middle of her bed and used the end of your hoodie to wipe the tears that kept falling.
She sighed realizing it was no use. She simply laid her tired body back and let the hot tears fall until she eventually fell asleep.
——
The smile wouldn't leave your face.
You had never been this high before.
The days after Lori broke up with you, you stayed with JohnBoy. Meaning you were sniffing lines like you were born in the 80s.
