Chapter 5

"Flight 404 to Hawaii is now boarding, please make your way to terminal 2," we all hear on the announcements.

We all get up and walk in a group, we all show our passports, and tickets and get on.

As I get to section 8, I go in and sit I look up and see Jamie groaning and sitting by me.

I roll my eyes and look out the plane ignoring him, and listening to my music.

"And you got me like ah, what you want from me" i hummed the lyrics to "Love on the brain" as the we flew.

I could feel Jamie's gaze on me, I turn my eyes side eyeing him, "what?" I asked turning to him, "why are you singing?" He asked, "it helps with my anxiety," I said, "oh, well be quiet," he said turning.

"I am, your probably the only person hearing me," I said, "shut up and sing your song what ever," he said.

I rolled my eyes and continued to sing and hum as we flew.

I close my eyes and take deep breaths, trying to relax myself.

As the plane gets turbulence I shout and I start to hyperventilate, getting anxious.

As Jamie notices and turns to me concerned as I look forward trying to breath.

"Are you alright?" He asked, "wouldn't you like to know," I said, as the plane shook again, I shouted out.

"Ok your not good," he took his seat belt off and looked behind his seat.

"Your moms asleep," he said, "I know she takes sleeping pills on air flights." I said shaking.

"Ok just breathe, breathe in," I followed him as he took the breathes with me, "breathe out," I keep looking forward.

As I feel my anxiety go away as he helps me, as I realize my anxiety is gone i look at him confused on how it worked when he helped me.

I stutter trying to thank him as I get interrupted, "Excuse me ms are you alright if you are having anxiety we can give you a weight blanket," the lady flight attendant said, "yes please," I said, she nodded and walked to the back.

"Thank you," I said softly, "no problem," he said going back to his book.

I roll my eyes at his cockiness, as the attendant gives me a weight blanket.

As I put it on my I relax and go back to my music I close my eyes and breath softly.

As a couple hours pass I hear Jamie close his book, he groans, I peek my eyes open and glance at him.

I could tell he finished his book and he had nothing else to do.

As I packed a few books I wanted to give him one but I know he wouldn't take it with his stubbornness.

I sigh and take the weight blanket off my torso and dig in my backpack, and dig out a book called "The Brothers Karamazov"

"Here you can read this," I said handing it to him, he looked at me and looked at the book and back at me.

I tried to keep eye contact to look more intimidating to him, but I couldn't I felt myself get hot and red.

"Well are you gonna take it" I said, he takes it and reads it, "thanks" he said to me "no problem," I said putting the weight blanket back on and closing my eyes.

He scoffs and laughs and reads the book, a small smile comes on my lips until I realize I'm smiling and stop and go back to sleep.
