Years have passed by and I'm trying not to boast but you could say that being the youngest and most agile assassin in our team I get hired the most with my partner Robin. Many people hire me to finish what they're most afraid to do so themselves. These shameless people aways try to us to do their dirty work with no remorse whatsoever.
The best part of my job is probably the fact that every time someone hears my name they tremble in fear cos although most civilians don't know my face they have all heard of me. The sight of my victims scrambling away in fear as I near them with my dagger brings me such pleasure as my knife stabs them right through their skin and breaking into their flesh with a piercing sound. The splattering of warm blood onto my face brings such a raw feeling to me as the scent of blood overwhelms me with a desire to spill more of this red thick liquid as I watch it pool beneath my feet.
Having being trained personally by Alex shows how treasured I am in the centre. Alex is immensely proud of all of my accomplishments. I'm not gonna lie but I'm actually kind of tired now. It was my birthday a couple of days ago , I turned 18 years old and I want to take a break to be myself for a certain amount of time. I want to explore what life would have been like if I had never turned into what some people would call as a monster plus I also need to check out for any details regarding my parents death. Once I get that mystery done I plan on starting over in a foreign country.
I knock on Alex's door.
"Enter , hey Kiddo how can I help you today".
"Hey Alex so I've been thinking about this for some time now , I was wondering if you could give me a break of some sort and let me leave for a couple of days".
Alex's face fell but quickly became stone cold so fast that if I had blinked I'd have missed it.
"For how long? Its not permenant right?"
"Oh no of course not , I will come back".
A smile popped into his face though it didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Yeah sure Kathy".
"Ahh I haven't you called me that in a while".
"Well then its time for you to dump this news onto Robin , I doubt he'll take it well though".
With a sad chuckle I leave the office room in search of my bestfriend. I find him in the training grounds running around the trackfield but as he sees me he stops and comes over to me as I wave him over.
"Hey whats up I haven't seen you all day".
"Oh I've been sleeping to be honest anyways I came to tell you something". " I plan on taking a break".
"Oh really? That's nice so for how many days is it?''
"Hey....so I actually plan to go away for a couple of months".
Robin's face crumpled as soon as those words left my mouth.
"Must you really go for that long? Can't you wait for me to finish my work to finish at least so we can go together?"
"Robin I actually want to spend some time on my own with anyone". Robin looked like he had been stabbed in the heart.
"I'm not going forever alright , I'll come back safely so don't worry".
"Its not like you'd listen to me if I begged anyways so I'm reluctantly letting you go alright".
I feel a pair of arms envelope around me and Robin pulls my chin up as his lips hover above mine. In a whisper he says "I'll come find you after some time so wait for me". His lips reach mine with a burning passion as what starts out as light feathery kisses turn into something more passionate and I feel a wet tear fall onto my face from him.
The next day
"Goodbye Robin , I'll miss you the most" , I say with tears streaming down my face.
"Alright alright don't act like we won't see each other ever again , I promise I'll come find you and enjoy your vacation with you". Robin tries not to cry but his voice cracks with no hesitation as he tries to swallow his sobs.
"Well then kiddo it's time for your well deserved break , I hope to see you soon".
"Bye bye Alex I promise to write".
"Okay okay what about me", Robin cries out with a whine.
"Haha I'll send you a letter if I have enough ink left".
Finally it is time to go. I plan to stay out of any trouble for these few months and avoid any form of physical destruction. As I leave the gates I turn back one more time to see Alex and Robin waving at me with all the other guild members bowing at me respectfully.
My heart clenched at the sight but I was eager for my trip so I look ahead and walk out with tears threatening to spill yet again but I let them flow once more.
