"Let's just get this over with." Jungkook let out as he squeezed his husband's hand. Jin nodded with a bright smile and let his baby lead him inside the large mansion. Jin's family was richer than Jungkook's but instead of using their wealth for everything big and expensive they used it in their business and multiple charities but the Jeon's; they clearly spend a lot on their lifestyle considering that they reside in a mansion with sixteen bedroom when there's only four people living in it.
"Welcome home, young master and Mr. Kim." The middle-aged housekeeper greeted with a bow as she opened the door for the couple. The two men returned the greeting and entered the house.
"Hello, aunty. Everyone's here?" Jungkook questioned in a hushed voice as they made their way towards the dining room where the Jeon's were seated already and waiting for them. The woman nodded with a soft smile on her face and announced their arrival.
"Young master and Mr.Kim are have arrived." She let the two men enter the dinning room once Mr.Jeon, the head of the family, approved with a stiff nod of his head.
"Good evening, father and mother." Jungkook bowed.
"Good evening, sir and ma'am." Jin followed quickly.
"A little punctuality would've been appreciated." Mr.Jeon spoke as he placed the serviette on his lap. That was the families cue to do the same. The couple immediately took their place on the table and did the same.
"My apologies, sir. The traffic was-"
"I did not ask for you apology nor your excuse." Mr.Jeon's voice cut Jin off who lowered his head slightly and muttered out another apology. Jungkook's jaw clenched as glared at the fancy cutlery set before him. He opened his mouth to say something but his mother cut him off before he could and send a stern stare towards him.
"Let's not waste anymore time and eat." She smiled and ordered the staff to bring out their dinner for tonight. Jungkook exhaled tiredly and looked at Jin apologetically to which his husband just gave him a soft smile and light shake of his head.
"Thank you for the food." Jungkook mumbled and served himself some pasta from the variety of different cuisines on the table. He's had this extravagant dinners all his life but he's yet to understand the point of it all when most of the food is going to be thrown out later. His in-laws were so different from his family. Jungkook was so grateful to have such kind and down-to-earth people in his life. Jungkook snapped out of his thoughts when his mother offered him some seafood which he politely refused. His own mother didn't even know that he couldn't eat seafood. A bittersweet smile spread across his face at the thought of his own mother forgetting it and Mrs. Kim making sure that there was no seafood served for him whenever he visited their home.

After the awkward and tense dinner, the family was having desert and tea with the same heavy silence lingering. Jin was having a hard time swallowing the food because of the mood on the table. Everyone looked like they'd rather be somewhere else than here, which was understandable given the situation. Jungkook's older brother and sister-in-law hadn't even spoken a word since they arrived.
"Jungkook, I have some important matters to discuss with you. Follow me." Mr. Jeon wiped his mouth and left the table. Jungkook looked at his mother and brother confusedly but the two just shrugged and continued eating.
"I'll be back." Jungkook pecked his husband's cheek and followed his father out. Licking his lips nervously, he approached his father who was now standing in the lawn with his back towards him.
"Is-Is everything alright, father?" Jungkook inquired softly as he stood behind his father with his hands interlaced together before him. His father turned to face him with his chin held high.
