One week later

Eren had fallen into a deep depression. There was really no other way to describe it, unless you wanted to say that he had lost all of his courage and purpose in life. Yes, he did want to slay all the titans and rid the world of them, but his motivation had been drained.

He sat in his room in the Scouts Legion HQ, his elbows on his knees and his palms pressing against his eyes. This was not supposed to happen. Never in a million years would he ever have imagined his two best friends could die, let alone at the same time. Maybe the universe hated him.

He then heard a soft knock on the door. "Come in" he mumbled, his voice hoarse and dry-sounding.

Levi opened the door slowly and stuck his head in the gap.

"Eren.." he began, but stopped himself, realizing he was approaching this the wrong way.

"I know how ha-"

"Omigosh Eren I hope you're alright! I heard about what happened and I came straight down here to see you!"

It was Hanji. She shoved past Levi and hurried right over to Eren and knelt down in front of the boy. "Eren.." she said in a softer and quieter tone now.

Eren didn't move or say anything. .The only sound that came from him was the odd sniffle as his shoulders heaved with the silent sobs that devastation came with.

Levi was having none of it though. "Eren Jeager! You need to get through this! I will not stand for this!" He shouted, trying to use his normal method of comfort..

Hanji frowned and stood, making her way towards the door. "Okay.." She mumbled, and shut the door behind her.

Levi glanced back as the door shut, then went and sat next to Eren on the bed. He hesitantly put his arm around the boy's shoulders, not really knowing if it was right or not.

Eren stilled for a moment before hugging Levi. "L-Levi.. I'm s-sorry" He mumbled between sobs. Levi hugged him back, stroking his hair gently.

The boy sat up after a few moments and rubbed his red eyes. "I really am s-" Levi stopped him with a raise of his hand. "No more, please" he said softly, closing his eyes for a moment.

Eren gave a slightly confused look, but said nothing more.

"I have something to tell you, Eren." Levi said slowly, as if unsure if he should continue.

"I'm gay, and I've wanted you since I first saw you. I only kicked the shit out of you because.." Levi hesitated. "I'm so sorry, Eren"
