I saw her waving the big sign, with my name on it. Aw.

"MIA!" she yelled, yes that's my name. Mia. She ran towards me her smile wide and flashy. She gave me a big hug my arms wrapping around her.

"oh I missed you mama" I said, she kissed my forehead.

"Me too darling. Lets go home! I have someone you might want to meet." she smiled and grabbed one of my bags leading me to the car. Same old VW bug.

We drove into the familiar neighborhood that I grew up in as a kid. All the houses look the same, flowers in every garden and lawn. When we arrived there was a unfamiliar car in the driveway.

"Come on darling!" my mother said opening the door Of the house and the scent of coffee and honey suckles filling my nose.

There was a boy, sitting on the couch scrolling on his phone.

"Jack, honey, This is my daughter. Mia." she said. The young looking boy looked up and smiled. A bright smile making me smile too.

"Hi nice to meet you, Mia" he said. His voice deep and charming. He had almost black hair, very tan skin and that smile. As bright as the sun.

I brought my hand up to shake his, and he shook mine. His big hand warm and soft. My stomach tingling.

"Oh dear. Well Jack you and Mia go out and have some fun, when you two come back I'll have dinner ready for you." My mother announced. I nodded and looked at Jack his soft brown eyes looking back at me. He smiled and took my hand, me following out to the door into his car.

"Your mother is a very nice woman" He said.

"Thank you. She's the best mom ever." I laughed. He chuckled as well, turning on the engine and continuing down the road.

"where are we going?" I asked, my eyes on his defined cheek bones.

"There's a party at one of my friends house, what time is it?" a party? I haven't been to a party in ages.

"6 o'clock"

He hummed and turned on the radio the awkward yet comfortable silence leaving. While I looked out the window, he tapped his fingers on the wheel and looked at me every once in a while.

"Mia, would you like to go to the party or somewhere else?" he asked me. I didn't want to invade his fun time.

"no it's fine. I actually enjoy parties."

He smiled as we pulled into a big house. Red cups all over the grass. A high school party.
