After what seemed like hours of heading nowhere, my feet were killing me. I felt like I was walking in a circle.
" Where the fuck am I? " I whispered.
Then I saw her. A girl about my age, long black hair, wearing a tank top and booty shorts, with long tan legs that stopped at her black and white vans.
" Hey! You! " I cried. " Wait up for a sec."
She turned around half scared and half curious. She was a pretty girl; With thin wire framed glasses, hazel eyes, and full lips. She also had gages in her ears with a clean cut bang in front of her face.
" Hey wait up. " I said catching up to her.
When I finally reached her I didn't know what to say...so there was a dead silence between us until she spoke.
" Who are you? Do you know where we are!? Oh God please tell me you do I have been walking for what could be days! "
" I am Makai...and no I don't I was hoping you did, but I passed a sign a few hours ago that said Purgatory if that helps. " I replied slowly.
" No it doesn't... but thanks for the help. " She said and started to continue walking.
" Hey wait up...are you really going to walk by yourself something could happen to you..."
She turned around stared at me and said.
" What else could happen to me that is worse then being dead? "
" That's the thing..." I said walking beside her. " Beyond this rode could be something worser then Death just look at how gloomy this place is..."
She looked around at the scenery around us then back at me.
" True...and besides it wouldn't hurt to have company in this God forsaken place. "
Then we were off walking again. I watched the crows continue to circle the sky above us. What were they waiting for? Then a quite a few distance across from us I spotted another kid in front of us a little on the heavy side, he seemed to be getting tired. I was getting ready to call to him when the girl put her hand across my mouth and pushed us down on the ground.
" Shhhh! Do. Not. Say. A. Word. Just watch." she said.
I watched the kid sit on the edge of the road, and began to what look like cry. Then I heard it. A low growling that came from out of the trees. The kid obviously didn't hear it or ether he chose to ignore it. Then I saw a shadow lurking in the trees, it crept up behind the boy and the closer it got the more clearer I could see it. It looked like a Bear but with the body of a snake that had long spider-like legs snaking from its torso. It grabbed the boy and drug him through the trees. Then there was a loud scream followed by a munching sound, then nothing. After a couple of minutes we stood up.
" What the fuck was that thing? " I said full of fear.
" I don't I saw the exact thing happen to another person but it was more of those things. They must watch and wait for their victims to get tired and then take them away and eat them. " She said.
" Well we need to find shelter and I hate to say it but we are going to have to go through the forest, because this road is leading us no where. "
Surprisingly she agreed.
