nico pov
the conch horn blew and everyone went off to the dining pavilion.
i sat down at the hades table and got my food. i sacraficed some to the gods and all that and then started eating.
after about five minutes i noticed that percy wasnt there and annabeth was glaring at the empty table.
i raised my eyebrow at her but was honestly scared of the glare i got from her.
after about a minute she got up and left.
well then.
percy pov
i sighed as i watched annabeths retreating back. she just broke up with me. and she acted like her breaking up with me was my fault.
maybe it was. i dont know anymore. maybe i sjould have just told her in the first place. about my past. about.......everything. too late now i guess.
i closed my door and went to my closet. i was digging around for about five minutes before i found it.
a dark black hoodie with a deep hood. it was one of those prototype fabrics with the darker black.
i grabbed some black skinny jeans and pulled them on.
i pulled on one of my old graphic tees, a three days grace one, and went to the bathroom to get my colored contacts and nerd glasses.
with my eyecolor now black i put on my glasses and grabbed my ipod.
i listened to some 90s alternative until i fell asleep.
i woke up at about 3 am and started packing my stuff.
i left the cabin and walked to the borders.
i wasnt percy anymore. i was blake.
percy was a nice, talkative person you would want to be friends with.
blake is the kind of person that wont hesitate to beat the shit out if you if given even a small reason. blake is the silent mysterious guy.
i was blake.
i reached the top of the hill and patted peleus head as i walked by.
i walked to the edge of the city amd hailed a cab.
i handed him a note satying where to take me and he sped off.
after a ten minute ride he pulled to a stop in front of my moms apartment complex and i handed him a twenty.
i waited for him to leave before climbing the fire escape to my room.
i lay on the bed and went back to sleep. i woke up about an hour later and got up to get some breakfast.
i made a bowl of cereal and waited for mom to wake up so i turned the tv on.
twenty minutes later a kid came in thay i recognised as rebecca. mom and paul had adopted her when i was missing for eight months. i dont think she saw me at first because she went to the kitchen and when she turned around she screamed.
paul ran in a moment later and saw me.
"who are you? and what are you doing in our house?"
i waved at him and continued eating calmly.
mom came in to and saw me as a look of relief appeared on her face. "blake. you have the whole camp freaking out right about now you know that?" i shrugged. "you do realise that there is a council meeting that you were supposed to be at today?" i shrugged again. "why is it even you thats here instead of percy?"
"percys gone again." paul looked freaked out about tbe whole situation as he hid rebecca behind him.
mom sighed. "what happened this time?"
"annabeth broke up with him over something stupid."
she ran her hand over her face. "you better get going if you want to get to the meeting in time.it starts at noon." i nodded and stood up.
"in other words you dont want me here." and i closed the door to my bedroom and grabbed my bag before climbing down the fire escape.
i was bored so i decided on parkour as my mode of transportation to get to the empire state building. yeah i know parkour. dont tell anyone but i was in a gang of sorts when i was younger.
i had time so i stopped at the library on the way. thats another thing. percy was completely incompetent when it came to reading but blake is a bookworm.
i ended up getting the entire wolves of mercy falls series.
i sat on the roof of the library until eleven thirty listening to music and reading.
when i got to the empire atate building i saw campers already going in the doors so i waited until they were all in before following.
i still had my hood up so i was freaking some people out.
eventually they got fed up and sent nico over even though mr. d said they shouldnt bother me.
"hi. uhm, who are you?"
"blake. now leave me alone, di angelo."
he looked startled that i knew his name.
"how did you know my name?"
"go away." for good measure i pulled out my book and started reading, completely ignoring him.
he clenched his fist and walked away.
finally the elevator dinged and people started going up.
i put my book away and followed.
dionysus came over to me and tried to start a conversation. "blake. long time no see. what made you decide to come out of hiding."
"wouldnt exactly call it hiding now would i? more like trapped."
dionysus chuckled. "yes well that tends to happen to people like you. you know youre one of my favorites. more polite than the others."
"i would hope so." i heard him chuckle as i put my headphones back in.
i noticed that the people in the elevator with us were giving us confused looks at which i smirked inturnaly. on the outside i just continued to glare streight ahead of me.
we stepped out of the elevator and went to the throne room just in time to see the other gods flash in. some gave me strange looks.
the others didnt notice me.
poseidon spoke first. "uhm, who is that?" he asked pointing at me.
"that is blake. im surprised you dont recognise him poseidon." seeing his confused face dionysus elaborated. "youll see." well i guess thats not much of an elaboration. oh well.
zeus called the meeting to order and the room fell silent.
"first things first. i was informed this morning that one of the campers went missing some time in the night. that camper being percy jackson. does anyone know why this might have occured and where he went?"
i rolled my eyes and zeus saw this. "blake do you have something to add?"
"he went to spend a few days with his mother after his girlfriend broke up with him yesterday."
people stared at me for a moment until zeus spoke up." well now that that is sorted out, we can continue. we have evidence that a new threat is rising. that threat is erebus and tartarus and nyx. the dark primordials."
shocked exclamations were heard throughout the room. the gods were silent.
after a few seconds, zeus got fed up wktb the screaming. "SILENCE!" he boomed. "we will deal with this matter in an organized way. now, i know many of you will disagree with this but the council decided beforehand that we will be sending a quest out to keep an eye on the rising enemies. this quest will be the most dangerous quest as it will be in a place that only three demigods have ever survived."
"youre not seriously concidering sending some of your own children down there are you?!" i asked in surprise. "with all do respect sir but anyone who goes down there will be trapped forever. theres no way out now that the doors have been closed."
annabeth and nico seemed to figure it out now. "youre sending people THERE?!" nico practically yelled.
"you cant send kids there! they wont survive!"
"we realise this but the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. it must be done."
"if you send anyone there it shouldnt be people that nobody has experience down there. ill go with the quest."
nico seemed to figure out who i am but kept it to himself. instead he said. "agreed. ill go as well."
"me too." annabeth said.
"well im not gonna stand around and let the three of you go by yourselves. even though i only know two of you. im going too. besides you could use the help of someone with good aim." thalia stated.
will solace sighed." youll need a healer with you. ill go too."
"and then there were five." i stated. "thats all thats going. we cant risk losing anyone else."
zeus seemed to agree with this. "very well. the five of you will go and watch the enemy until they try to come up. when they do you will use this," he displayed a walkie talkie sorta thing, "to contact us. unfortunately, we will have no way of getting you out of that place. you will be trapped there. possibly for the rest of your lives."
"we understand the sacrafice that goes with going on this quest."
some of the gods seemed torn between grief and dignity.
"very well. say your goodbyes to those you wish. meeting dismissed."
the other four went to say their goodbyes to their families while i just went to the corner of the room.
dionysus saw me and came over. "you should say goodbye to your father. it will break his heart if he doesnt know it was you and finds you missing."
i nodded and thanked him as i walked up to poseidon. "lord poseidon. may i speak with you in private?" he nodded his concent and shrank to human size and followed me out of the room.
when i was sure nobody could see or hear us i pulled the hood off. i was immediately pulled into a hug.
"im sorry father but this is something i must do. just know that i dont hate you. can you tell mom and paul and becca i say goodbye. and please dont tell anyone who i am."
"of course my son. i will miss you. goodbye."
i gave him one last hug and pulled my hood up before walking back into the throne room.
the next person to aproach my father was annabeth. "lord poseidon. i know i have no right but can you please tell percy that i do love him and that im sorry for everything? tell him goodbye for me?"
"of course, miss chase. i will tell him."
probably without thinking she pulled him into a hug as tear slipped from her eyes. "thank you. thank you for everything."
my father awkwardly rubbed circles into her back until athena came over. she cleared her throat and annabeth seemed to realise what she was doing. "oh. uhm, im, uh, sorry. lord poseidon."
he smiled kindly at her. "it is okay annabeth chase."
athena spoke quietly. "annabeth. blake. it is time for your departure." she gave annabeth a quick hug and slipped something into her hand. "for good luck. i know its not much but know that im sorry. for everything." a single tear slipped from athenas eye.
annabeth nodded and we followed athena back to the center of the throne room.
