SPONSORED CHAPTER
On our day out, we are joined by Ncane. And I actually don't mind her coming along. Both these women raised me, so I am grateful to them. I would like to spoil them with my money one day, but for today, the minister is paying for everything. Mom allowed us to pick the activities because last time she planned something like this, she took us to a shooting range and at the sound of a gun going off, Ncane's ancestors started acting up and she began rooaring like a lion, scaring everyone in the range. So yeah, mom never organized day outs or family outings after that. She has a PA for that now.
Our first stop is at BattleZone Paintball which is located in Sandton. I hope Ncane is going to enjoy this. I actually enjoy outdoor activities. Paintball or lasertag, I am in. I think I would fit in a white dominated family. That's why I love white man. Most of them are adreinaline junkies and they love outdoor activities. We head inside and we are given bush jackets to wear. Luckily mom said we should wear yoga pants and sneakers for the first activity of the day. They also hand us face masks and the guns. A marshal is assigned to our team and then we start our adventure. I am glad that mom is on our team because we would've had our asses whooped.
By the time we are done, we are breathing like crazy but laughing our asses off. We had a lot of fun and we bonded. We change our clothes and make our way to the cars. We then drive over to A Class Restaurant. This really beautiful restaurant which serves delicious cuisine and some of then are affordable. We place our orders.
"So you are done with the white boy?" Ncane asks and I chuckle. In a way, she never approved of him. She said he was too white for her. But she has never said that about my previous white boyfriends.
"Yeah. After that call yesterday, he never even bothered to reach out to me. So I am done. I don't know what led to them getting together and even sleeping without protection, but I don't care. I am through with him."
"Thank God. Now on to the next victim." Ncane smirks and we just laugh at her.
"What about you, Sindiswa? What's going on in your love life? Any new man? Or woman?" Mom wiggles her eyebrows and I laugh while Ncane rolls her eyes.
"Nikiwe, there is nothing to tell. Also I am not gay."
"Could've fooled me." Mom mumbles and I continue laughing. Mom loves provoking Ncane and somehow, she always take the bait.
"I think I saw her chatting to the new deputy minister of sports last week. The single one." I add and quickly hide myself with the menu. Ncane squints her eyes at me and I giggle.
“You mean Nsibande?” Mom questions.
The deputy minister’s name is Muzikhona Nsibande. Mom usually calls officials by their surnames unless she has a personal relationship with them. She is best friends with the minister of Arts and Culture and the minister of Health. She has a stupid beef with the minister of Education regarding that minister’s lack of support when Mom implemented a life changing policy that could benefit the whole nation. Well it was approved at the end but the minister still doesn’t agree with it and is not ashamed to stand by her decision.
"It was one conversation and it was harmless." Mom gives her the mmm look and Ncane scoffs. "Is this about bonding or grilling me?"
"When women are chilling, the men's topic is bound to come up at least 60% of the time." Mom responds and Ncane huffs.
"Fine. We went on a few dates with Muzi but it doesn't mean anything."
"He is single, doesn't have any baby mamas, according to the tabloids. He is handsome and humble. What more do you want, Ncane?" She rolls her eyes and exhales loudly when the waiter brings our food.
"Thank God." She starts eating and we just stare at her. When she feels our eyes on her, she looks up and huffs again. "You are not going to let this go, are you?" Mom and I shake our heads like robots. One thing we have in common with mom, we love gossip. "He is still courting me and he is nice but I don't think I wanna be in the spotlight like you, sisi. I don't want people knowing about my weird private life."
Mom sighs and holds Ncane's hand. "There is nothing weird about your life, sisi and people are more progressive now. They are more accepting of sangomas and other traditional healers. And should they judge you, I will sort them out." She flexes her muscles and Ncane laughs.
"Yeah, Ncane. Don't be scared to give love try. This might be the one." I smile at her and she smiles back.

After eating, we head over to Benmore Centre. Mom gives us her black card and tells us to go crazy. No matter how rich you are, being given someone's card with no limit is one of the best feelings ever. Ncane is very humble and reserved but she also loves retail therapy. We go from shop to shop, swiping like crazy. Mom also buys a few things. We also buy things for the family. Some people even ask to take pictures with mom. She is a public figure after all. Just as we are exiting one of the stores, we bump into some old woman. She is with that savage girl from the funeral. They stop and stare at us.
"Is there something we can help you with?" Mom asks and the old woman scoffs.
"If you could go back to Saturday and unsay every despicable word you said about my brother in front of hundreds of people. Is that something you can help with? If not, continue with your miserable existence." Such spiteful words from an old woman.
"Ohh, I remember you now. You are Zibondiwe, Amo's ever pregnant sister. How many kids do you have now? Did you manage to pin down one man to take care of your crayons?" Mom asks and I resist the urge to break into laughter. My mom is savage. Yoh bethuna.
"Watch how you speak to my mom. We have to power to demote you and ruin your reputation just like that." The rude girl snaps and this time I chuckle.
"You know the trending saying on socials that say 'u Beyonce akalwe noBeyonce'? Yeah, you should pay attention to it. Learn to study a prospective opponent before declaring a fight. My family can destroy yours so fast, in a blink of an eye. So watch your words, love." I state with a smile on my face. "Now, it was nice meeting you cruella and crueallakazi." I pull my mom and Ncane follows behind.
"I wish time can fastforward to Saturday already. I can't wait to see the looks on their ashy faces when they discover that your dead beat father left you something." Mom mumbles and Ncane just laughs. This woman always say laughter is a medication for most things in the world and I think she is right. Other things just need you to laugh at them and then move on.
