She Stole My Heart

She stole my heart in the spring
While the birds came anew and whistled their call
She stole my heart in March
She took me... took me all.

My heart was hers from the very beginning
I simply did not know it
But now I realize what my feelings truly are
And believe it or not, I'm a poet.

She took my heart swiftly, and without my realizing it
And sad was I when I thought I had lost her
And now that I know I might have a chance
My heart is glad once more.

Ashamed am I, that I did not simply
Want her to be happy
My behavior when I was turned down
Was positively crappy.

Not only now do I have to fix
A friendship that may be broken
I must show her that in all ways
I love her more than words can be spoken.
