I tremble in my bed at night, hidden beneath the covers.
I whisper out and plead with him to go back to the others.
He stomps about loudly as he treads around my room.
He disregards my pleading as his scary voice booms.
Peeking out I see him stumble back into the closet.
Only to see his friends come out too, eager to make me haunted.
Monsters all around my room, they're giving me a fright.
If I dare shoo them away it wouldn't be polite.
Monsters playing in my room, I wish it weren't night.
I wouldn't stand a single chance if I dare put up a fight.
But then the monster touches me and my heart began to melt.
He noticed I was afraid of him and all the worry that I felt.
I watch attentively as he flicks on all the lights.
I realize who he truly is as everything is bright.
He shows to me all of his love, so genuine and kind.
The monsters all around my room soon too began to shine.
I realized I had never known anything at all but monsters.
But this time it was someone different, and we would become lovers.
Monsters.
