Narrator's pov (third person)
Once upon a time in a normally peace full kingdom named locum Alarum
Rex woke up to the bell that rang every morning and got ready to get to work.Since today was a Monday morning he was of to help Liber his favorite librarian and one of the only people who don't hate him.He swiftly left his dorm in the orphanage and he slipped by all the other kids who were was getting ready to help around the kingdom.When he got to the library Liber wasn't at his desk.
He rang the bell on the the desk a tall young man walks out of the near by shadows of the lightly lighten library.He was wearing normal clothes.His usual grey tunic,white pants,and the fashion shoes everyone except royalty or high ranking people wear.He was also wearing a silver bracelet.He also had his glasses.His pure white hair was a messy then usual.His purple eyes shining
"Oh well nice to see you,Alarum!"he said with a smile."Vermis nice to see you to!"Rex waited and Liber hugged him.They had bonded a sibling like relationship by their interest in books.Liber showed Rex the todo list and they got right down to business.That was what Rex was so happy about Mondays.He got to see someone who actually cared.Unlike the whole town who when ever he comes to help force him to do it all.They finished earlier then usual so Rex got to read one of the books.He was kind of limited on time so he had to chose quick.
He didn't know why but something was calling to him in the lower shelves of the history section.He followed it and he grabbed a book.It was old and needed to be dusted of but then the title was vissable.WAYS OF THE DRAGON.He looked at it with interest.Rex's mind:Woah I've never seen anything so old and and interesting!Well other then this town.He had apparently been so drowned in thought that he didn't hear Liber's calls.
"Heyyyyy Rex?Rex alarum ya there buddy?!Earth to rex!"He called finally getting through to Rex."Oh sorry just deep in thought by now I will be needing to get to the bakery see ya!"He started running to the door.Liber was confused but it wasn't his bee's wax so he let it go.If it was important he trusted that Rex would bring it up with him.
Rex quickly put the book in his bag and ran to the bakery.He finally made it to a cozy cottage like restaurant.The big words on the building were Scilis Bakery.He ran inside and was met by a huge over weight man.He had a scowl on his face and a bucket list."You're late alarum."he says menacingly standing over him."Sorry sir it shan't happen again."Scilis shoved the paper to him and he started to read the list.
1.Throw out the trash
2.do the dishes
3.clean the V.I.P seating area
5.mop the floor
He sighed and got to work.He went to the back of the bakery and threw out the trash.He then looked at the leaning tower of dishes and slouches.At this rate he is just piling up dishes until I get here!He starts clean all the dishes one by one.Eventually he finally finishes.He sighs in relief.He looks at his hand which was wrinkled from all the water.He quickly gets to the V.I.P area and cleans the tables and chairs.
Hah this is so easy!Thank god the V.I.Ps are so clean.he starts feeling pain but he continues.Hmm mopping the floors really?He just grabs the mop and starts using it.The floor is clean before he knows it.He finally checks everything of and gives the paper to Scilis and goes to back to the orphanage.It was sunset and he wasn't the only one.He finally got to his dorm and out of the busy halls.He sits down and reads his book.
The beginning was in a different langue that Rex had heard of.LATIN.
Ut dracones custodiat eos qui colunt alas
He only understood some of it but not he rest.May dragons ... those who...wings.He continued reading and learned about the many dragon species.This was on the history section not the fantasy.So either some one is playing a prank on the readers or dragons were or at least were real.He continues reading through the night even learning more about 'the wings'.Which were the highest rank of dragon.He also learned a bit more Latin from the book's words.
He fell asleep late but since tomorrow was Tuesday it wouldn't be that major.Rex woke up some time long after sunrise.He got ready and went into the halls.He eventually after busting his way out of the halls got to the cafeteria.He goes up to the grumpy lunch lady and he gets the usual pancakes.The bell rang after he ate and him and all the other kids pretty much ran outside.A man with blue coated armor was standing outside.
"Hello children this is Eques Venator."The orphanage head Callidus said with a smile."And I am ere to show you youngsters how to hunt."This got Rex interested.He was now 13 and was awaiting his freedom at 14.Eques showed them the basics and some pro tips.He even allowed them to learn how to use swords and crossbows.Wow what a careless knight!Also what a name!Knight hunter!?Wow is everyone's name in Latin?His train of thought disappeared when Eques started taking the swords away."Okay another truly important hunting knowledge is species."Welp if that book was real then dragons might just be there.
"We shall start at Elves.They are mostly calm and very caring for nature.They have an inner source of magic linked to their emotions.Another species is demabats.A demon normally a weaker type gets bitten and turned by a vampire.The then follow any and all orders from their master.But if you defeat their master you may have them pledge their undying loyalty to you.Cause we have limited time this is our last monster today the vampires.The are a powerful species of the undead.They are elegiac to garlic and silver which can either weaken them or kill them depending on ranking."The explanation didn't exactly help with Rex's questions.
A crow came flying down and it was Nox the head's messenger bird.He dropped him a message and Eques caught it."Oh so apparently we have extra time sense the king doesn't mind.Okay let's do dragons and then some of the more common monsters."
Okay so that is chapter on also all the names are in Latin.

Pretty confusing ain't it!Oh also the heads name means clever and his crow's name means night.The kingdom's name means place of the wings.Good first chapter if I do say so my self.See ya all soon hopefully.Hopefully you enjoyed.
