About 3 weeks later Jax and Evelyn had finally found a nice house and had started the process of moving into it. Evelyn was so thankful for Gemma helping with Abel, she had her hands full with everything that was going on with the house. Jax had been wrapped up with things with the club, so setting up the house was left up to Evelyn, thankfully her best friend Briar had moved to Charming.
Briar was leaning on the kitchen counter with a beer in her hand laughing with Evelyn as they put away the new dishes and finished the kitchen, making sure to put a few pictures of the club and Abel on the fridge. A brand new coffee pot had been set on the counter in the corner, as Evelyn made her very own little coffee area. The two had painted the kitchen a soft sage green with very light grey cabinets.
Both ladies grabbed a fresh beer before heading to the living room, thankfully the furniture place had set up the new sectional couch that had been delivered. Briar and Evelyn each grabbed one end one the low coffee table and place it in the center of the livingroom infront of the sectional, before putting out several throw pillows, each with a quote on it. Along the wall with the window was the wooden blanket racket that held the throw blankets for the livingroom.
Moving from room to room, Evelyn and Briar set up the entire house, some rooms in silence where others just small talk. Which was one thing that Evelyn valued about their friendship, sometimes no words was needed.
Once both ladies were exhausted for the day they made their way to the back porch with a few cold beers. Each lady took a seat in a chair that was facing out into the backyard.
Briar was the first to say anything, "So hows things been with you and jax?"
Evelyn took a long drink before nodding, "Good"
"Have you told him anymore?"
Evelyn shook her head no
Briar scoffed at her friend, "Really Ev? You gotta let him in"
Ev looked down her beer in her hands, "yea, just....not his demons"
"No but if you're serious about him then he needs to know"
"What if.....no I can handle this"
"Like hell you can" Briar replied to her friend sarcastically as she drank her beer.
Both ladies laughed and continued to talk for hours. They locked up before briar dropped Evelyn off at gemma's house about 10 pm.
Evelyn headed for jax's room, stopping by the nursery to check in on abel before she continued down the hall. Once inside his room she shut the door, and headed for the bathroom, turning on the shower, leaving the door cracked as she let the steam fill the room. After undressing and taking her hair down she stepped into the stall pulling the door shut behind her as she let the hot water run over her frame, sighing in relief as the hot water soothed her tired muscles. Closing her eyes as the water carried the day's work with it from her tired body. She was zoned out to her own thoughts, she didnt notice the door open or that jax had came into the bathroom. Jax hadn't taken off his clothes and stepped into the hot shower stall.
Jax placed his hand onto her shoulder, catching her off guard, snapping her from her own thoughts sending her into a panic state, she quickly moved away from him as she spun to face him. Her heart pounded in her chest as she locked eyes on him with panicked eyes.
"S-sorry, I was lost in thought"
"What's the matter?" he asked but didnt make a move to get closer to her.
"How'd things go with the club?" she asked in return, avoiding the question.
Jax expression harded as he looked to her, "No you're not shutting me out, what's wrong?"
Evelyn was frozen where she stood, she knew she couldnt get around him to escape the shower, she didn't know how to answer him.
Jax stepped closer to her, not realizing that he was making her panic more.
"Baby, talk to me" his voice was harsher than he intended it to come out but his point still stood. He could see that distant look in her eyes, he knew she was shutting him out. Jax also knew that she had never known a kind hand.
Evelyn felt like she couldn't breath, the shower walls were too close. Her heart pounded in her chest as she breathing came in short burst, she knew jax would never hurt her but right now she didn't see jax.
Jax stopped as he seen her before him, she was completely different from when he got in the shower, she was looking at him like he was a different person, she was terrified.
"Baby?"
No response
"Ev, I need you to breath babe"
Her eyes was locked on him as he reached for her.
She didn't move away from him or flinch when his hand finally grabbed hers. Slowly he place his hand on her cheek making sure she looked up to him as he stepped closer.
"Breath babe.......Breathe, its ok, You're ok"
She slowly nodded doing as he asked of her.
Soon the tightness in her chest began to loosen its hold as everything was back to normal but she was quiet as they finished the shower. Once their both were done, Jax sat on the bed leaning back against the headboard, wearing his black SAMCRO shorts, he watched evelyn pull on an oversize tshirt and shorts as she sat on the bed in front of him. Her legs crossed under her.
Jax sat as he waiting patiently for Evelyn to say something.
She took a deep breath, "Alright, I know you have questions"
