How Dare You! (Sollux x Reader) Part 1

*A/N: So... This is a little something that I did in an rp session for my friend, and I like the idea, and I've been meaning to do a Sollux x Reader, so here it is! ^^ Thanks for reading!*

You were an average girl. Well, not completely. I suppose I should explain some things first. It had been one decade, or 5 sweeps, since the caste system had been abolished. The Alternians and the Earthlings had reached somewhat of an..... Agreement. Complete access to each planet provided to every citizen of each species. The agreement was that the caste system would no longer be in play as long as the Alternians were all treated with respect and even treated like they were of a higher social standing than most humans.

To make a long story short, there were a lot of people, of both species, that weren't very comfortable with the compromises they had to make and especially the part where they had to share worlds. Some of the Alternians who would have had a higher blood color didn't like the idea that they were going to be treated with the same respect offered to those with lower blood colors, or even mutant blood colors. A lot of humans didn't think that it was right that they had to treat ALIENS with higher respect than they would have to their own neighbors. Now, you might be wondering: 'What the heck does that have to do with me?' Well, I'm about to tell you.

Your family was one of the more.... Cautious... Classes when it came to Alternian interaction. They were used to living a human lifestyle. Meeting human people. Eating human food. Sleeping in a human bed. Having a human daughter date a human boy and have human children. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you get the picture. There was a word for people like your family. It was 'Speciest.'

When they had figured out that Earth was soon to come into an alliance with Alternia, they wasted no time in feeding you propaganda. Over time you had come to know Alternians as aliens who had no right to even set one foot onto human soil. They made you think that they were murderers with no self control, which was actually sometimes the case, but not always. That was usually only the tendencies of the higher blood colors. The lower blood colors fought and even killed when they needed to, but they didn't go looking for it like some of their species did. But you didn't know that. Your parents told you that they were wild, that they all did drugs, and that they were very unpleasant creatures. You really didn't know what to think since you were about 10 when they began feeding you the lies.

You would have been lying if you had said that you weren't at all a bit wary of the new species and you tended to avoid them whenever you saw them. Your parents made sure that you were put in a school where there were little to no Alternians, even though the prospect of that was highly illegal. They would have none of you becoming friends with any of the trolls. Heck, if you even exchanged words with one they were quick to chastise you. After you had left their house and moved into an apartment closer to your college, you were a bit more open-minded. You had met a few of them, and you had decided that they weren't so bad and that your parents had the wrong idea. But, you still tended to stay away from them. You mostly hung out with your best friend, (b/f/n), and her boyfriend, John Egbert. Of course, they even had a lot more experience with Alternians than you did. (B/f/n)'s family always encouraged her to live multiculturally and to try and make as many friends as she could. John had met quite a few of them on an app called Pesterchum and was friends with a lot of them, probably even more than he was friends with humans.

One day, a certain encounter changed everything. You had been extremely bored and had asked (b/f/n) to accompany you to the mall. Of course, the first question that she had asked after you had invited her was if John could come. You giggled and told her that that was completely fine. You could practically see her blush. After hanging up on her you sighed. You had always wondered what it was like to have someone that you always wanted to be around. You weren't a very social person. Not only were you not very social, but you were also very competitive when around people. Despite this, instead of looking for people to challenge you mostly liked to lay around your apartment and watch anime or read manga. You knew you could do quite a few things around your apartment to entertain yourself, but that day your boredom was relentless. So you decided to get out and do something in public for once instead of staying cooped up in your room watching anime for hours on end. It was November, and things were beginning to get pretty chilly outside.
