The first thing Naruto did after leaving the village was call his pet hawk, Peanut. (Yeah, he named her Peanut. Why? Don't ask me cause I do not know). He wrote farewell letters to all of his friends and asked Peanut to deliver it.
He decided to leave all his old memories behind to start new ones. After all, he was just 17, just a teenager who had to face wars and fight against monsters, who grew up without love, who never had someone take care of him.
Shaking those thoughts aside, he asked Kurama what necessary skills he lacked.
"Hmm. That would be healing jutsu and water attribute jutsus. If you want to travel around the world, you'll need to travel by water too. You need to know enough water jutsus to survive. Especially those that allow you to breathe underwater. I'll teach you kit"
"Thanks Kurama. I know at least I can count on you"
"Don't thank me yet kit. First, find a place to train and stay. Somewhere away from the hidden villages. I'll help you teleport. It'll take a lot of chakra as it is quite far away. Find some emergency food and water first"
"Whoa! You know a place away from the hidden villages. I thought the only places you knew were in the hidden villages."
"Enough chit-chat, kit! Find enough food so we can be off. Oh and find a small boat while you're at it.."
"How can I bring a freaking boat with me, Kurama?"
"In a seal, you idiot"
"Oh"
"Yeah, you're an idiot"

"You idiot!!!!!! How could you finish a week worth of food in 3 days?? What is wrong with you?"
"Kurama you can't blame me. My clones were hungry. Besides we can just dock in the nearby island and fish, right? I'm good at fishing"

Kit I sense people. Maybe there's an inhabited island nearby"
"Yeah I see it dattebayo"
While conversing with kurama in his mind, Naruto paddled his boat next to a cliff and climbed up by putting chakra on his legs.
"Woah! That was so cool!! How did you do that? Who are you? Hey hey do you poop?"
"What!?"
