-16- (Mateo's Life)

Mateo is a highly vivacious kid who adores spending time with his mother. Both of them are really close, which is why people refer to him as Mama's boy. Back then, he was just a typical young child who enjoyed playing outside with his friends. He was also quite sociable and active. Everyone in their neighborhood concurred on that.

Although he is well-liked in their community, especially Jaehyuk, he is more likely to experience bullying at school. Because his school is quite a distance from where they live, he doesn't have many friends there. Even though they are wealthy, Mateo's father doesn't give a damn about him, he never hates his son, and thinks Mateo is useless. When his mother confronts his father, she always questions why he behaves as though he doesn't have a kid or as though Mateo didn't exist.

"Hey Mateo!" Little Mateo closes his locker and turns to face the direction where his name was called. It was one of his bully, he tried to flee away in different direction but for surprise he was cornered by one of his another bully "Ey you got him. My day would not be complete without degrading this little bitch" The guy said and grab Mateo's hair pulled him closer to him "Give me your money" Mateo didn't said anything, he just stared at the bully's eyes trying to pierce through but it didn't work "I said give me your money!" Again he didn't said anything but he is done with this game. He spits the face of the guy and let go of the grip on his hair and got a chance to escape.

"Get that bastard!" They chase Mateo as Mateo's adrenaline kick in. He thought that he would escape those bully but a random guy tripped him over making him fall on the ground. Before he could stand up and run, he was pounce and got lock in into the floor and there, they start kicking and abusing his body until the poor boy can't move his body anymore.

"You don't deserve to live dick head" The predators left him alone, and those nearby merely stand by and look pathetically at him as he lies on the ground. They simply don't want to become involved in a situation like Mateo is going through right now. He assisted himself in getting to his feet and began to walk using the walls as a reference. Everyone stood motionless and watched him suffer. He simply left the building and went to a place where no one could witness him toil in this unending anguish and where a silver lining couldn't be seen beaming on him.

A sudden downpour of rain while he is alone and sobbing on a bench is the perfect antidote to his depressing state. The redness on his eyes will be evident, but no one will be able to see him cry, so it's practically ideal. He just wanted to remain by himself to relish the situation at this time instead of going home. The area is blanketed in a gray tone due to the heavy rain. He like the atmosphere and finds it calming, so it makes sense that even a simple downpour might help him relax. Although Mateo isn't crying right now, he didn't want to leave just yet because he likes his current circumstances.

He has numerous black patches on his body, but he is having so much fun playing in the pouring rain that he can't even feel them. He has never felt this pleased before, therefore it doesn't matter whether he got sick. After spending 14 minutes playing in the pouring rain, Mateo made the decision to go home because it wouldn't stop till after midnight. He reached their residence while drenched and soaking the tiled floor. His mother hurriedly went to him "Oh my god Mateo! Why are you wet?!" She observes his son with a worried expression on her face, Mateo didn't say anything, he just looks at his mom beaming a smile.

By that smile, she already knew that Mateo just play under the heavy rain. She just laugh at his son and Mateo laugh along with her mother. She grabbed a towel and dried Mateo up "Go to the bathroom and take a shower honey" She said and Mateo just nodded and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

Mateo went downstairs after his shower and encountered his father. Without even caring for his son, his father simply went by him. Mateo recently made the decision to go see his mother and show her every scar and bruise he has. Although his mother was horrified to see everything, she already knew that her kid was an outcast at school. She has already spoken with the school's principal, but the prinsipal doesn't seem to be concerned. Nevertheless, she healed all of Mateo's wounds and kissed his cheeks.

Her only wish for her son is that he grow up to be a kind and considerate person who enjoys interacting with others. As long as Mateo is with her, everything will go as planned, and Mateo will be the person she desires, regardless of the fact that her husband doesn't truly care about his son.

But everything changed when she got diagnosed with Malaria Disease. A parasite that frequently infects a particular species of mosquito that feasts on people can result in the severe and occasionally lethal illness known as malaria. Malaria often causes severe disease, including a high temperature, shivering, and flu-like symptoms.

Since Mateo is aware that his mother is one of the most courageous and independent women in the world, he believed she would survive. His mother endured all of his father's beatings, but regrettably, malaria claimed her life. On that particular day, Mateo was in a severe state of sorrow; he felt as though everything was crumbling or falling into a chasm from which no one could emerge. His father has been in charge of his life since his mother passed away, using him as a middleman to sell illegal goods.

Mateo's life has altered significantly since that time, and the Mateo that everyone knew then is now gone. Since the present Mateo dislikes feeling fragile or susceptible, he chose to bury the previous Mateo. He enjoys the new, powerful version of himself. He enjoys watching others suffer, especially if it is the person who caused him to suffer in the past. Keep on dialing the old Mateo because the person who will pick up is the vengeful Mateo.
