Narrators POV

__________

Short summary: (I like it but idk where to put it)

Bakugou liked to think he was a pretty rough and tough person. Someone who could scare anyone away. Someone strong and fearless. That all would change once he met Todoroki Shoto.

No, not the first day they saw each other in class for the first time.

When they actually met each other.

Bakugou saw behind Todoroki's static gaze and Todoroki saw behind Bakugou's anger. It would take a while for them to understand each other, but they got there.

__________

Bakugou had a lot of baggage weighed on him after he got kidnapped and had to be saved. The feeling that he caused All Might to retire broke him. He broke down in front of Midoriya after their fight in Ground Zero. Stupid Deku. Stupid, Stupid Deku. He just made everything worse.

Bakugou only got more angry and short tempered after all of that. He lashed out at even Kirishima, his best friend, more often. The arguments he had with his teachers trailed on more than they usually do and he even got suspended a few times for his reckless behavior.

Todoroki had taken notice of Bakugou's change in behavior. Who wouldn't? But it worried Todoroki. Ever since the sports festival, Todoroki couldn't help but admire his explosive classmate. They were probably the two strongest students in class 1-A. But Todoroki didn't just admire his strength and charisma. He admired almost everything about him. How determined he was and how pretty his face was-

Wait, no...

Todoroki was just confused. He couldn't... He shouldn't... Bakugou would blow his face into pieces it he told him.

Little did he know however...

Today was an especially bad day for Bakugou. First, Denki had convinced him to stay up later than usual to play video games, making him late for class as he had slept in. Great, now he ruined his perfect attendance record. Then it started raining right when he left the dorms to head to class, getting all his clothes soaked. Third, the absolute unnecessary volume of the class gave him a headache, so he couldn't pay attention in class or training.

After an unruly long training session, Bakugou had just finished undressing out of his hero costume and into his school uniform in the boys locker room. Todoroki was fastening his tie when he got in the way of Bakugou leaving the locker room.

Bakugou did NOT need to deal with this today and that showed.

"Out of my way, Icy Hot!", He yelled, letting off some small explosions from his hands as he glared at Todoroki.

"Bakugou, we need to talk", Todoroki kept his expression still as he looked down to the blonde.

Bakugou straightened himself out, confused as all hell. "The only thing we would ever talk about is how stupid you look right now. Now fuck off before I kill you!"

Todoroki didn't respond as Bakugou pushed past him, nearly knocking him over. Todoroki watched as the blonde stormed off, letting off small flares from his palms as he yelled at people to move.
Midoriya watched the interaction from his locker. He was used to his childhood friend getting fed up with others, but whatever business Todoroki had with him puzzled him. Todoroki wasn't one to talk very much.

"Todoroki-kun?", Midoriya asked as he tapped Todoroki on the shoulder to get his attention.

"Hm? What is it, Midoriya?"

"I'm just curious, so you don't have to tell me, but what is it that you wanted to talk to Kacchan about? Is it about how he's been acting lately?" Midoriya asked as he fidgeted with his fingers, wondering if he was getting too personal.

"You noticed that too?" Midoriya nodded in response "It's been troubling me is all. Ever since he was kidnapped, it's like he's only gotten more aggressive"

"That's right. During training earlier it was like everyone was a target, even Kirishima, who he was workikg with", Midoriya worried.

"Maybe I can try to get him to talk about it later? Perhaps today wasn't a good time" Todoroki admitted. Midoriya hummed and nodded in agreement.

"Well, I've got to go! I'll see you after lunch, Todoroki-kun!" The green-haired boy chirped before he jogged off to the cafeteria. Todoroki couldn't stop himself from thinking about Bakugou all day. It plagued his mind and left him unable to concentrate.

He knew about Bakugou and Midoriya's fight that resulted in Bakugou opening up to Midoriya. That's what Midoriya had told him, but he didn't tell him about what Bakugou exactly opened up about.

'Bakugou does seem to get joy out of fighting... Maybe a fight would ease him? Release some of his tension?' Todoroki thought as he made his way to the dorms. He kicked a small pebble on the sidewalk and stopped. He wasnt thinking straight. He was looking for solutions that wouldn't help. Bakugou already got under house arrest for fighting with another classmate and he clearly wouldn't do well with another one, especially not with someone who he thought of as a challenge.

Was Todoroki a challenge to him? Someone he needed to compete against?
Another pillar he needed to get past to be at the top?

Todoroki audibly sighed, looking up at the sky as if it held an answer for him. He was indecisive on this issue and it only made things worse.

"Hey, Half-n-Half!"
