Time stood still, yet the clouds kept blowing.
The birds kept whistling.
The breeze kept moving softly.
It was a standstill, me and the moment.
I was locked in a cage but my mind held the key.
The bars rusted before I could figure my way out.
The bittersweet taste was still in my mouth.
You put it there the day you left.
My rose-colored glasses shattered as I watched your car drive away.
I didn't know what to say so I said what I thought would sting.
But now I'm left here.
I stayed at the place you left me.
And the clouds kept blowing.
