A beautiful stranger, sitting right there.
'Flip' the sound of the pages turning gave the teenage girl Lin excitement, because it meant a surprise awaits every page. She then looks up for a brief second as the train comes to a complete stop. A tall adolescent male has entered the train. The girl was astonished. Why? The boy looked, or rather described just like one of the men from her books. He wore a band t-shirt, and has headphone over his head. A very fit man indeed, he seemed like a martial artist. Bead of sweat rolled down his tanned freckled skin, and he huffs as he sat himself down in front of the black haired girl. She looked back up after a minute goes by as she was quite fascinated by the man's looks it seems.
"Excuse me.." The Chinese girl mumbled softly kicking the leg of the man in front of her. The brunette removed his black headphones and responded. "I don't mean to be rude nor weird but.. May I get your name?" Lin asks. "Huh yeah! The name's Henry." He says. He gave of an immediate golden retriever vibe to the adolescent girl. 'Clap!' slammed the book shut as Lin talks to her new-found friend. "Nice to meet you Henry. I'm Lin." She gave a shy smile. She tended to be very quiet when meeting new people. Especially in social areas. "What a beautiful name!" Henry replies in a sincere tone as he gave Lin an eye smile.
'Shhhhhhhhhchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh' The doors opened wide open. Lin knew it was her stop. She turns to her new buddy and smiled a little sad smile. "Nice to meet you Henry!" The black haired girl strokes her long length hair as she gripped her book on the other hand. "Goodbye, Lin!" The Asian female then rushed out the train doors and shyly waved. 'Schhhhhh.......' The doors closed and left for the next station. There was an immediate breeze that whispered the name of fate in Lin's ear. She then walked away and exited the station as she headed for a cafe where she will meet a childhood friend of hers who just came back to London. 'BEEP BEEP BEEP' The dark academia girl dialed her friend wondering where she is.
"Hello?"
"Mari! Where are you at right now?"
"I'm on my way, I'm just 3 minutes away. Don't worry."
"Okay okay. See you."
"Bye Lin."
'Beep!' The phone hung up. The bookworm then pulled out her book that she read at the train station and waited patiently for Mari to arrive. 'Ding!!' The entrance bell of the cafe has just rung. Lin looked up hoping it was the classic styled girl she knew of. She was correct! Her friend has just arrived with a big bright smile. They embraced and were so happy to see each other. "Mari! How was America?" The Asian girl asks eagerly waiting to hear about all the fun things the other has done. "Well.. It was quite calming. I stayed at Arkansas for like 1 week then Illinois for 3 days or 4? Was amazing though! The food there is unique. I'm so glad my father gave me the chance to go with him somewhere." Lin was jokingly jealous. "Lucky! Your dad's a business man, and your mom is a lawyer. How much luck in the entire world do you have?!" The bookworm exaggerated. "Don't make me laugh Lin! Your mother is a professional bossa nova singer, and your dad's a psychologist too! You get to go to fancy hotels almost every week or even travel city through city with your mom to perform!"
"Even cruise ships." Lin sarcastically added. "Either ways, 5 star hotels every week or so gets tiring easily. You gotta stay up late until ALL your guests are drunk or and sleepy. YOU CAN SEE MY EYE BAGS!!" The bossa nova enthusiast added and pointed at her own face. "Well we get tired of fancy stuff eventually you know?" Mari sighed. The two complained over everything while sipping a cup of warm tea. That's what calmed them down the most. If they stressed out about class, they would complain over a cup of tea. Feeling lovesick? Complain over a cup of tea.
They are best friends and they know that, and they are inseparable. "Oh yeah! There's this guy I met in the train. His entire figure reminded me of the book I started to read. His name was Henry, and he was a brunette with sun-kissed skin with freckles and he was incredibly tall." Lin rambled. Mari definitely knew her best friend was lovesick. "You listen to too much love songs." The Japanese girl giggled. The bookworm snapped out of her trance and laughed it off too. "He's definitely a nice guy huh?" The guitarist asks. Lin nodded. They went on and on, even if they walked home! This Henry guy really IS changing Lin's life. Guess fate might be real.
