I laid on the white cushion seats for a minute longer. Debating what to wear and whether I truly wanted to get up. But, deciding that hibernation has ended, I kicked out my legs, using them to catapult the rest of my body up. I stretched before realizing something. "Where do I get ready?" I thought out loud.
I thought I was alone with no one to answer when someone replied, "Down the hall, last door on the right." I could hear Marcus but could not see him. I walked further, finding the entrance to the kitchen, a short hall.
"Hey, Sleeping Beauty. I was about to go on a quest to find you a prince's true love's kiss." He said, joking about my long slumber. I would have retaliated with a smart remark but my nap had left me in a wholesome mood.
"I already have one, back home." I said in a matter of fact.
"Is that who you were on the phone with earlier, in the car?" Marcus asked.
"Yeah, our relationship is slow. I didn't want to take things too fast, knowing that I was going to be moving out here." I explained.
"Why didn't he come down with you?" He asked, slightly intrigued by the issue. "He just left LA. I'm Hollywood centered and he likes being home, in Texas." I said, feeding his sudden hunger for my life's gossip.
Marcus raised his eyebrows, giving him a surprised expression. He bit his lip, pondering for something to say. "Do you think that's a good idea? You being out here, him being out there, I mean." Marcus spoke slowly, unsure if he was stepping over a boundary.
"What do you mean?" My eyebrows furrowed. Marcus resembled a fish, opening and closing his mouth as he tried to find his words. "Misha, you're a very pretty girl, and by what I've been told and witnessed firsthand, you're a great person. You're young and in LA, guys will be around you 24/7. All that being said, your boyfriend, if he managed to get you already, must be an amazing guy."
I was confused by what Marcus had said. "I still don't understand." I shrugged my shoulders.
"You can't possibly be that oblivious." he let out a small chuckle. Marcus looked at me waiting for me to join him.
I must have still seemed puzzled because he continued. "Okay, I'll make it simple for you. Misha equals pretty. Pretty added to personality equals major yes for guys. Your boyfriend, states away. Hollywood guys ages 17-20, however, everywhere!" Marcus broke it down.
Me attractive? A good personality? Huh.
"Are you insinuating that I'm going to cheat on my boyfriend?" I raised a brow, slightly offended. Marcus's eyes bulged out in panic. "No, I'm saying there's temptation and sometimes things happen, and it can happen on either end." His hands shook.
He was probably thinking that he got himself into a mess. I took a moment to process what Marcus had said. "I guess I never really thought about that. He's my first boyfriend."
Marcus fell into an abyss of laughter, cackling and snorting twice. "You have a sense of humor," he said calming down from his laugh fest. "I'm not lying." I replied, my face serious without a trace of sarcasm.
"Wow, didn't expect that. Misha we're young, follow the current and see where it leads you." Marcus advised me. It was great advice at that: advice on cheating.
"How do I - WHY ARENT YOU GETTING READY?!" Aliza yelled at me from the doorway.
"It's my fault, we started talking." Marcus stepped in front of me. Aliza stared him down, emasculating him.
"Did you know Misha knows nothing about guys?" Marcus let Aliza into the conversation.
"Yeah, it's Misha." She pointed at me.
