chapter ; 19

after you ran away that night a lot went in your mind. why was a young prince interested in you of all people but then guilt started to sink in because you didn't even let that poor boy complete about what he was saying.

it was already hard enough as it was, bearing nasty people by day and serving to those same trashy people at night felt like falling in an endless dark pit. you wanted to escape but only then soobin came into your mind and you shook your head.

it was impossible for him to fall for you, from your perspective it looked like he deserved a far more better person than you.

having nothing but bad luck and bad time was all you had. on the top of that you were a mere peasant while he was the son of the king.

"let's push this away for now" you held your breath tight going back into the same place after you ran away.

the following night it went by as usual. if you had to be honest you were waiting for a change but didn't wanted that 'change' to be that drastic.

the crown prince liking you was a whole another thing, beyond you're expectations and it was almost scary because the king himself was a really harsh person.

"what. why? i will run away hyung" soobin harshly pulled away from yeonjun after he broke it out to him. it's been three days since that incident.

after seeing both taehyun and beomgyu heading towards somewhere with another cart made soobin really curious.

both taehyun and beomgyu couldn't come up to tell it to soobin because they knew soobin liked someone already and it was really sad to tell him that.

after whining and asking continuously to yeonjun, he finally said it almost like spilled it out "they're headed towards the kwon family for your wedding proposal!"

it took a brief moment for soobin to register. "what..."

soobin took a few steps backwards, it was almost like his world flipped upside down "i'm going to runaway hyung— you knew about this all along?"

soobin could read the older's face as he let go his arm onto which he was tugging on earlier.

"i-i can explain my actions—" soobin almost cried he was mad, "do you know—!!!!!" yeonjun quickly covered soobin's mouth and whispered,

"this is n-not the place we should go to your room young master" he didn't wanted to admit it, but it was true. they were standing in the middle of the palace area where anyone could hear them.

they were both yelling at each other. soobin felt really betrayed by yeonjun. they'd been together since so long and had a really deep bond but it broke down right at this moment.

"i was asked to n-not tell you...i swear the king was really strict on not telling you because you could mess his plan"

he couldn't say anything, he was still shaken up by the recent outbreak that yeonjun took out on him.

"you know you could've still letted me know!!! we promised to have no secrets and you're my only close friend i share all my things to"

by soobin's last sentence yeonjun crossed his arms "are you sure about the secret thing?" soobin looked up at him perplexed

"because you didn't inform me that you liked someone and that too haaa...a mere peasant—"

"stop it. don't ever call her a peasant." he coldly said to older upon which he only twitched

"woah look at that temper. my my young master i hope you'll have the same temper while telling it to sire because i'm not going to be there anymore"

"w-what?" yeonjun's last words left an impact on soobin. the older remained silent because he was sick of it. "forgive me master if i'm crossing the line but because of all this behaviour of yours,

"the king punishes me and always i'm the one suffering. if you don't tell me anything then i'm afraid i won't be able to protect you"

after yeonjun said it, it felt like a huge weight started to lift off him and he started walking towards the room's door untill soobin tugged on his arm's sleeve.

"please don't go, i'm really sorry hyung but you're the only person i can lean on when it gets hard.
you better know i've never been let out like normal children."

it was a sadistic story but yeonjun knew it well since they grew up together but soobin's last words made him mad.

"but can you please that she lives and eats well?" yeonjun looked at soobin with a big questionable look.

"right now she's in a really bad condition, can you look up what kind of condition she's in?"

"what?" the older covered his mouth, "nothing i'm just shocked that you like someone to the extinct that you'll put both of us in trouble."

soobin chuckled at that "maybe i do really like her"
soobin smiled to himself as yeonjun went out. he felt bad for bickering with soobin and so started thinking of a solution.

but then a brilliant idea hit him and he made a loud thud, stumbling he saw hueningkai quickly picking up his arm and tightening his grip.

"are you really going to do this?" hueningkai mumbled but yeonjun heard it and replied instinctively

"yes that looks like the— what!?"
hueningkai covered his mouth and stood straight as yeonjun got back his steps.

"haha i think i'm not feeling well, i'll go take a walk at the forest" yeonjun doubted hueningkai but then again he was in a hurry to make his plan work to he went to market in search of you.

after walking and walking he kept looking around for your stall and finally spotted you sitting with a blank look trying to sell the objects placed on the table. "we met again" yeonjun said under his breath.

yeonjun put a fake smile on his face and his light steps which led to you. "hello young la- ahem i mean miss y/n"

just by seeing him again made you a little uncomfortable "what do you want this time? does young master wants to see me again?"

yeonjun's face turned serious but then he eased up "mayhaps? but i have—" a man from behind the store house came out. he looked, yeonjun ignored him and continued his sentence. "i have an offer for you, since you're a kiseang..."

the man came forward you and started talking "talk to me, i'm her owner...about your offer i won't accept it because i want to keep her" his face stretched in a big smile which made both you and yeonjun uneasy.

"it's an official order and i'm one of the officials who're here to take her. she's not an object who's obligated to you, she's a human with real emotions" yeonjun would be lying if he didn't felt a little sad for you and hatred for that off treating you like this.
