Charlotte Bell Carlisle walked beside the lone brick building. No one was around anymore, all having left for their next lesson or for lunch. My cloudy blue converse scraped at the gravel path as i readjusted my dark purple backpack to a more comfortable position on my shoulder. The sun shown brightly on my small figure, and I hurried to get back to main campus. I carried a Starbucks latte, and took a sip of it, savoring the warmth in my mouth.

The one lone building me and ten others were studying and learning mythology stood off on the north side of campus. I checked my watch again, ten minutes left, and quickened my pace to a near jog. My next lesson on Mathematics was on the other side of University. I had stayed after the lesson of people of Pompeii and their mythology tactics to help clean up the mess with Professor Topper, but i hadn't expected that it would take twenty minutes or so. But.... It wasn't just the short time limit that made my feet race wildy. It was the feeling i always got when she walked this dry path. The feeling that someone was watching me.

My skin crawled, and I looked around both of my shoulders to be sure that I  was safe. I did again, and again, until I  was practically walking backwards. I just couldn't shake the feeling. My skin crawled again, despite the ninety degrees weather. The lonely  building was out of sight now, and the long cared-for grasses came into view. I was so close to main campus, and usually this feeling would be long gone by now, washed away with the loneliness of the mythology building.

I turned around one more time, just two dozen feet away from main campus. Nothing, like every other time before. I was about to turn back around when I saw a waver in the distance. I squinted again, but saw nothing more. I turned back around and continued down the road. Perhaps it was the heat, yes the heat. I could feel the sweat dripping down my back from her backpack, and reasoned out all the other possibilities immediately, to anxious to believe in anything else.

I reached the gates of the entryway to main campus and breath out a sigh of relief. I check my watch again and, realizing that I have time, turn around once more to check if anything is there. I smile slightly, thinking that nothing with be there at all, and I am right. I'm perfectly safe, how clueless of me to believe that something was actually following me. I turn around and hear the satisfying crunch of the hard-yet-soft green grass and start to walk across campus.

I make it to mathematics with a minute to spare, and use that time to get out my notebooks and pencils. I even takes out my phone as well. I don't know where this sudden good mood feeling came from, but im happy they have been delivered to me. After that weird obnoxious feeling of suspense, it feels good. I doodle a little wolf in my binder as my teacher, Ms. Shapens, answers some questions that she got on the quiz from last Tuesday. I sit in the back of the auditorium, and with her poor eyesight, she won't be able to tell if I am paying attention or not. That's why half the students sit in the back, though she doesn't seem to notice. I scroll on my phone as she begins to explain some useless lesson in trigonometry. I look down at my doodle and feel a bit proud of my amateur drawing. I'm sure that mostly everyone in the room can do better, but it seems very good for me, at least.

An hour or so passes, and we are released early, everyone having finished the worksheet made for that particular lesson.    I gather all my materials and such, stuff them in my backpack, and hurry the heck out of the stuffy auditorium. Ms. Shapens stands by the door, answering any questions that come along as women and men alike walk past her. I try to slip by unnoticed, and it works, but only for Ms. Shapens. Ben, a boy who has been in the same class as me since grade one, walks up to me, smirking.
