Bella woke to the sound of soft purring. She opened her eyes and looked down to see the most handsomest man lying on her lap. He had a content smile on his face yet his eyes were closed. His hair was black with streaks of white at the temples and his face looked old and weathered. Bella shrieked in surprise. The man woke up and he sat up, looking around. Bella shuffled away from him.
"Who are you?! Where's Dettlaff?!" She asked.
The man looked at her with light blue eyes and Bella had a feeling he was Dettlaff. Yet this man was also naked.
"I'm Dettlaff." He said softly and Bella squinted at him.
She noticed his aura and realised it was the same as the strange vampire who lived here. She relaxed and moved forward a little bit. Dettlaff tensed up and growled when Bella raised a hand. She caressed his cheek softly and the vampire relaxed, purring softly. His eyes fluttered shut.
"Ahem." A voice said behind them and the two jumped and moved away from each other. Bella turned around to see Regis. "I do hope your momentary affection is done."
Bella rolled her eyes at his remark and got up. "I have to take a bath." She muttered and ran out.
Regis watched her leave and turned to Dettlaff with a smile.
"It's good to see you. How have you been going?"
Dettlaff shrugged. "I've been going alright." He answered.
Regis nodded, satisfied. "That's good. I've got some clothes here for you." He gives Dettlaff a bundle of warm Skelligan clothes.
Dettlaff nodded. "Thanks. Can you leave? Please?"
Regis nods and left the cave room. Dettlaff, finally alone with his own thoughts, frowned and entered his own thoughts. Why did Bella help calm him down from the nightmare of Syanna? Why would she even hum a song to him and stroke his hair while waiting for him to calm down? He sighed and finished getting dressed and walked out of the cave room. Whoever she was Dettlaff was starting to slowly trust. And he shouldn't do that for she will tear his heart out and stomp on it. He will have to guard himself around the strange sorceress.
