OG! Wally x Reader

Y/n was a person who likes to roam around a lot. They would often stop by her neighbors to either help them with something or just to pay a visit and say hello. But their favorite stop is when she reaches the middle of the neighborhood.

Home.

As they approach the living house, they saw the person who lives in it.

Wally Darling.

They see him painting a portrait wherein they got curious and wanted to take a quick peek to it. But Wally, who felt their presence behind him, took the chance to pull a quick surprise.

Wally jumped from the stool he was in and tackled Y/n to the ground. "You can't see the painting yet neighbor. It's not finished yet." He said while trying not to let them get a peek of the painting. "Come on! Just a peek! Pleaaaase!" Y/n pouted as Wally only chuckled at them childishness.

Wally got of Y/n and faced the canvas of his painting away from them. "Like I said it's not finished yet. I'm sorry neighbor." He said with his usual monotone and calm voice. Wally hiding the painting from Y/n just made them more curious.Wally noticed this and tried to get their focus off of it.

"So neighbor, What are you doing here?" Wally asked getting their attention. Y/n looked at him and smiled. "I was just roaming around the neighborhood." They said casually as the blue hair puppet looked at them. "Again. Ha ha ha" he said as if roaming around the neighborhood was part of their daily routine before laughing in a monotone voice.

They both laughed and cracked jokes for a while until a creaking noise was heard. Y/n knew that Home was trying to make his presence known. Y/n thought that maybe Home felt invisible even though he is a living house and felt bad. "Oh! Sorry Home! It's nice to see you again too Home." Y/n said as if they did something wrong. Home waved a window but also looked up. Y/n was confused until she felt something wet drop on her nose.

It was starting to rain and Home tried to warn them. "Neighbor let's go inside Home. It's more warmer and dry. And besides that, I don't think you can reach your house before the rain becomes stronger." Wally said calling for Y/n. As Y/n was about to run to Home but she remembered Wally's portrait.

They took the canvas off the easel and bolted to Home's door. By now, Y/n is a bit soaked from the rain but manage to save the portrait. Y/n started sneezing and by now, she caught a cold. Wally, worried about his friend, rushed to get some blankets and pillows to warm them up. Afterwards, went to get some medicine to help lessen their sneezing.

While the rain poured heavily, Wally took good care of Y/n. As Wally was drying them up, Y/n can't help but think about what she saw on Wally's portrait.

~Small Flashback ~

They grabbed the canvas off the easel and ran as fast as they can but as they ran for Home's door they caught a glimpse of the painting. Y/n saw a beautiful background scenery and...
Them standing with a unfinished character that has a smudge of blue and yellow paint.
Indicating one person.

~Short Flashback End~

Y/n didn't realize that they spaced out for a moment until Wally spoke. "Hey, are you okay? You looked like you were in a trance for a minute there. Is there something bothering you neighbor?" He asked in concern. Y/n didn't want to admit they saw the painting so they tried to lie to him. "I just wanted to think if I forgot to do something.. hehe.." they said trying not to act suspicious.

Wally saw through Y/n's lie as it was pretty obvious they were lying and you can't hide anything from him. "Y/n don't lie to me. I know you're trying to hide something from me." Wally said looking at Y/n. Y/n had no choice but to reveal the truth. "Alright, I saw your painting and I'm sorry but I didn't mean to- I was also surprised on how beautiful it was!" Y/n sputtered out as Wally was embarrassed that Y/n, his neighbor, his obsession, saw the painting not intended to reveal to them yet.

Y/n saw this and grabbed Wally's hands in theirs. "Wally it's ok I like you too." Y/n said in a soothing voice. Those words nearly made Wally's heart leap out of his chest like a frog. He was so happy to here those work come out of your mouth. So happy in fact that he started jumping up and down like a child. He hugged Y/n so tight that his hands started gripping harder.

Y/n bent down to his level and hugged him back. They stayed like that for a bit until Wally looked up to
Y/n having eye contact with them. As Y/n and Wally locked eyes together, Wally with his usual half lidded eyes but with more passion in them whispered something that Y/n didn't miss.

"Y/n,

I love you so much it's hard to last!

..I told you they love me... And not you..."
