"In between these sheets is where our secret will lie because no is allowed to know about us"
Liam can almost feel the proudness oozing from his parents as he stands, a little awkwardly with the other children in their best Sunday dresses and suits. Liam's is a little too big, it fits loosely on his frame, and the seven year old kind of hate's it.
He really doesn't like coming to church much, it's a little boring, and it always seems to be sunny outside when he's stuck in the big, draughty building singing hymns of praise. He just really wants to play on the new playground equipment they've put in the park over the road, but he's here, stuck in this horrid, dusty place in an uncomfortable suit.
But your First Communion is an important thing, or so Liam's been told, so he just stands there, smiling awkwardly out at the sea of families and old people, hoping this will be over, really, really soon. There's a muffled snort of laughter, and the boy next to Liam stumbles a little, into him. Liam instantly reaches out, grabbing a hold of the boy's hand and steadying him
The boy next to him smiles gratefully, and Liam's never seen him before nor those cerulean eyes and he stares, because they're kind of beautiful. "You have pretty eyes." Liam whispers, and the boy giggles, his pale cheeks heating up as he looked away.
"So do you." He whispers back, smiling a little and readjusting his hand in Liam's.
And together, not letting go of each other's hands, they take their First Communion.

"Why does the world work this way?"
They were both snuggled comfortably on Liam's bed with comfortable silence in the air that Niall decided to break. Liam fluttered his eyes open, looking up at the boy that held all of his heart.
"Is that a rhetorical question, Nialler? Or do I really need to answer that?"
Liam snuggled to the crook of Niall's neck. Niall could feel his breathing and they snuggled, impossibly, closer. Niall pouted, though Liam couldn't see, and brought a hand up to tangle through Liam' messy brown locks. Niall felt Liam smile and he continued to do so.
"Since when was it a rule that two guys can't have a relationship in this world?"
Liam played with the hem of Niall's black shirt. Happy and content was Liam today. Their lazy Saturday's were just the best. A break from pretending. Each day it was getting harder and harder to pretend there wasn't a romantic relationship between them.
"Since Adam and Eve?"
Liam wasn't sure. They were both brought up in families where only a girl and a boy can have a relationship so when they both started having towards each other, he thought he was crazy, wrong and going straight to hell for having feelings for a boy.
Niall playfully rolled his eyes and continued to work his small hands on Liam' hair. He loved the way Liam would purr in delight and lean into his touch.
Niall moves so he's directly facing Liam and he intertwined their hands. He looked at him with all the love in the world, all contained in his blue orbs.
"I want a world just for us. Where I can proudly hold hands with you whenever."
Their hands gently tightened; afraid they might lose each other if it wasn't strong enough.
"Where I could kiss you whenever I wanted."
They both smile at each other, both studying each other's faces, something they've done a hundred times. Both thinking how much loved and love they feel with just each other's presence.
"Where no one can tell me that loving you is a sin."
Liam pressed a gentle kiss on their intertwined hands.
"Where we don't have to pretend."
"Where we don't have to pretend."
They both said at the same time. Cracking a smile, Niall pulled Liam to his chest and held him. Liam closes his eyes once again, their intertwined fingers still in between them but somehow they both didn't mind.
"What a wonderful world it would've been."
He whispered as he kissed the top of his boyfriend's head. He, too, closes his eyes.
First chapter. Bit short but eeh, let me know what you think. All the love.
