Chapter 1

You were walking through the woods, this was your way to escape the harsh reality of this world. You found it calming to walk through the woods. You did this occasionally when the world felt as if it was caving in.

The tall trees always made you feel safe, along with the smell of the grass, and the soft sounds of the wind blowing against your ears. It was all so comforting, especially at night when you could glance up into the shining stars. 

You were walking at night after a long day of working in a cafe. There seemed to be a lot more assholes than normal today, it was frustrating to have to deal with. You couldn’t wait to get off work, it was stress relieving to even walk out the door, that’s how bad it was.

You always walked to the same spot, a little river. This river was always so beautiful, especially at night when the moon reflected in the waters. It was relaxing to just sit by the cool waters, with the small breeze blowing against you and the sounds of running water from the small river. 

You have wondered before what was beyond the river, but you never went across it. You didn’t understand why, but you just never did.

“Should I…?” you mumbled, wondering if you should cross it tonight or keep it a mystery. You sat there for a couple of minutes, trying to decide whether to go or if you were too lazy.

In the end, you ended up deciding to cross it.

You stood up and started to hop across the mossy rocks slowly to make sure you didn’t fall. When you finally got across you started to walk deeper into the woods. It was just as beautiful, and you enjoyed exploring it. You were having fun for the first time today.

Soon you came across a clearing with a small abandoned castle in it, sitting next to the castle was a person, they were looking up at the stars.
