Summersaults: A Novel Concerning the Ties Between Dating and Friendship

Authors Note:

The contents of this book contain the stories of many people and their experiences in dating. Some of thee people in tis book don't know that i'm writing this. This book may contain some inappropriate thing for a 14 year old to do. that was Lina at the time. Lina now ha made it clear to herself and is now realizing her mistakes and is now being pressured. She is scared and doesn't know quite what to do. At one point she was acting like a player because she took on a few guys at the same time. I have ADHD and if some of this does not make sense then I hope you understand why. This book starts with Lina at a young age and works her way through her life. I am adopted and so is my main character Lina.

Characters:

Lina-

15 year old girl. Has gone out with many guys and is still not sure what to do now even though she is old old enough to understand what she has done. Lina is adopted. Was adopted on the same day as Benton, and has known him since then, and has stayed in touch with him since. They have gone out a few times, and broken up, and then a short time later go back out. Lina is a CHEERLEADER, and she is one of 4 captains.

Alana-

15 year old girl. Lina's best friend. Has known Lina since daycare. Loves to hang out with friends and loves to have sleepovers. She laughs a lot, goes to a different school than Lina, and lives in a different town than Lina does.

Grace-

15 year old girl. One of Lina's closest friends, but not her best

friend. Has known Lina since pre-school.

Ellis-

14 year old girl. Our parents were good friends. Lina is not the best of friends with her. Ellis is pushy, rude, and can be very irritating.

Melina-

14 year old girl. Was on Lina's best friend in New Bern, until Lina started dating Jackson. Lina and Morgan parted ways, because of Lina's poor decision.

Logan-

14 year old boy. Lina's best guy friend. He has been there for her through everything. Even when she started her period and her

parents didn't know. He know when something is wrong even before she can tell him. He is with Lina 5 days a week at school, some Saturdays, every Sunday at church in the mornings, and youth group on Sunday nights. Has a twin brother named Brandon. Have known each other since 3rd grade, ever since then they have told each other everything.

Brandon-

14 year old boy. Lina's best friends twin brother, Logan, that is close to Lina, but not as close as Logan. has also known her since 3rd grade.

Austin-

15 year old boy. Has known Lina since Pre-Kindergarden. In the first grade he started to show some personality and interests in

being friends with Lina. Is Hunter's best friend. Is one of Lina's ex-boyfriends.

Josh-

15 year old boy. Has known Lina since second grade. In the middle of the second grade he showed interest in being friends with Terrence. Since then they became best friends.

Jackson-

15 year old boy. He was fat, and he never ate lunch. He was trying to lose weight. Has had a crush on Lina for a long time. He is now one of Lina's ex-boyfriends. They went out for about 5 months.

Benton-

15 year old boy. Has known Lina since the day they were adopted. Loves Lina, is always thinking about her. Has not gone out with any other girl except Lina. He has never given up on her, he texts her during school knowing that she won't rely, but wanting to leave her a message for her to read after school. He respects her, but there have been times where his hormones kick in and starts acting "horny." It doesn't take him long to realize the way he was acting, and he apologizes to Lina. He now lives in a different town, but he still loves her.

Charles-

14 year old boy. Lives in another town also, has known her, but used to go to school with Lina. He went to school with Lina for 1.5 years and went out with her about 2 times. He still likes her as more than a friends, and Lina knows that, but she has some guys in her life right now, and doesn't know what to do with them.

Brice-

15 year old boy. Lives in a different state than Lina. Met Lina at a summer camp meeting the night before they went off to camp for a month. That same summer he asked Lina out. They ended up going out for 2 or 3 years because she was upset with him over the stupidest reason.

Jack-

14 year old boy. Lina has known him since the 5th grade. Went out with him twice. He was an ass. Lina now never talks to him unless she has to.

Drew-

14 year old boy. Lina's ex-boyfriend, that is not sure if he still likes her. Even though he knows she likes him.
