On the opposite side, there exist beings known as demons. These creatures derive sustenance from fear and terror and can manifest themselves in various shapes, some of which resemble humans. Some of these demons have a penchant for consuming flesh, while others do not. A fascinating aspect of these creatures is their ability to assume the form of the thing that is most feared by their victims. However, despite their predilection for causing terror, the motivations and perspectives of these beings remain a mystery.

I throw my head back in a fit of laughter, knowing that the weakest are destined to fall. "Why do you not grieve this loss?" Jake asked while suppressing his laughter. "You know why, it's a pity. She didn't feed off fear, because she didn't induce it. It's her fault. She didn't have proper nourishment because she fed off live cattle and such." I swirled around fresh blood in a silver cup, watching as its thickness stuck to the sides for seconds then sunk back down. "She was fulfilling her destiny, we all knew she would end up decapitated," I added with a shrug. I sipped the finely textured blood, it staining my pristine white teeth as I did so. "You know what, though? Cut off a hydras head, and two more grow back." Jake gave a sly smile and a wink. I nodded, crossing my legs. "So who do we send in next? Another weakling, or the real deals?" I asked, turning to Sunoo. "Ah, I can't keep waiting any longer. You know my patience is short." Sunoo smiled, tilting his crown. He brought his pinky to his bottom lip, wiping away some leftover blood from his prior meal. "The question is, who to send?" He raised a brow with a smirk. I studied his sly expression, realizing the eyes were on me. "Me? You never send me. You say I have "too much fun with it"." I leaned back in my chair, sipping my glass. "There is a newbie," Jake added with a grin, knowing how to entice me. "I'm in," I tilted my head, setting down my glass in a swift motion.

I unveiled my wings, which sprang from my spine, causing me to wince. Just because I had grown accustomed to it, didn't make it any less painful. I fluttered them, preparing for flight. "See ya, good luck." Jake snickered, taking my glass and pouring it into his own. With that, I lunged into the sky, soaring against the gloomy winds. I let out a shiver as the cold air flew through my loose shirt. I came across a densely populated area and I planned to draw attention to myself in front of everyone, causing them to pathetically panic and foolishly alert the hunters. Allowing me to kill some of those hunting assholes off, and make it easier for the weaker demons. As I was about to complete my landing, I spotted a group of hunters passing through the area. One of them stood out to me - I could sense his fear and deduced that he was probably new to the group. I perched on a nearby building, intently observing their movements. I took advantage of the perfect opportunity and swooped down, landing a few feet in front of them.

"Why, hello there! Could you kindly remind me of the nature of the work you were just engaged in? Ah, I remember now - it was related to merciless murder, correct?" I smirked, and my wings folded as I stepped forward. I noticed the new person and could sense their fear, causing a tingling sensation at the back of my neck. "Aw, you all are terrible at hiding your obvious scent of absolute terror." A seemingly brave soul decided to step forward, most likely the leader of the ridiculous group. "Oh, and your people are oh-so merciless and innocent?" He scoffed, his hatred for my kind being quite obvious. "I don't recall stating such. I'm well aware of my 'peoples' acts of cruelty. In fact, it brings me utter joy." I grin, narrowing my eyes as I gaze at the hunter. A minute-long silence passes by, before a rather young-looking boy steps forward. "We wouldn't have to resort to such acts of violence if your kind didn't terrorize our people!" He says with a 'look, I'm intimidating!' type of look.  "Terrorize? Oh, when you put it like that--I have more of a reason to be so proud of my 'kind'." I sigh with a bored smile. "I think you are over-crediting us. We are only doing as we were made to do."  My eyes spark with curiosity as I notice the new member who appears to have something to share but remains silent. "So, your only purpose in life is murder?" The leader's (supposed) assistant speaks up, slightly choking on his words. I smirk with satisfaction as I hear the exact question I had hoped for. "Oh heavens no! That would be awful!" I give a dramatic gasp, a large hint of sarcasm in my voice. "Our life purpose is to serve." I smile, tilting my head to the right. "Serve?" The leader-type male asks, his voice firm. "Serve who?" He furrows his brows in absolute confusion. "The ruler of the underworld--and soon this one. Thastranor." I sneer with a glint in my eyes, a mixture of white and black swirling around in my eye sockets. "Thastra-who?." A female scoffs, her voice hushed. "Thastranor is the one us demons swear to protect and serve. I anticipate hearing your screams when he comes to this world." I sigh with causality in my voice. I glance at the newbie as I hear him gulp.

With surprise, I take a second glance at him, noticing him step forward out of the corner of my eye. "Then you shall know, as we will be ready. If what you say is indeed true, we will not back down. We will fight against your "ruler" and ensure that they do not take over this world, no matter how strong their efforts may be." He speaks up, his eyes glistening with determination. I smile as I can sense his strongly obvious fear, yet he hides it well.
