As the first rays of dawn painted the sky with hues of gold and crimson, the group found themselves cornered by the relentless pack of velociraptors. The predators' primal instincts kicked into high gear, their razor-sharp claws tapping impatiently against the ground, their eyes fixed hungrily on their potential prey.

Jack's mind raced, weighing the options before him. Without George's expertise, he knew that their chances of survival were slim. Yet, a glimmer of realization struck him-perhaps there was a way to appease the savage creatures, to redirect their attention away from the vulnerable members of their group.

With a newfound resolve, Jack reached into his backpack and retrieved the stolen velociraptor eggs that George had accidentally taken. Holding them gingerly in his hands, he approached the pack with cautious steps, hoping to appeal to their primal instincts as a caretaker.

To his surprise, the velociraptors' demeanor shifted almost instantaneously. Their menacing gazes softened, replaced by a flicker of curiosity and even contentment. They huddled around Jack, their tails wagging in an almost domesticated manner, as if acknowledging his offering.

However, their momentary display of placidity was shattered when Sam unwittingly caught their attention. The young boy's smaller stature and vulnerable demeanor proved irresistible to the raptors' predatory instincts. In a split second, they lunged toward him, jaws gaping wide.

With lightning reflexes, Jack intervened, placing himself between Sam and the ravenous predators. He fought with every ounce of strength, desperation guiding his actions. The ferocity of the struggle intensified, claws slashing through the air and teeth snapping perilously close.

In a race against time, Jack managed to create enough distance between the group and the pack of velociraptors. With each step, they pushed forward, their hearts pounding in their chests, fueled by an unyielding determination to reach the safety of the helipad.

As they emerged onto the helipad, a renewed sense of hope flooded their weary souls. The sight of the waiting helicopter, blades spinning in anticipation, offered solace amidst the chaos that had consumed their lives. The rising sun painted the horizon with its gentle glow, casting a reassuring light upon their troubled path.

The chapter closed on a serene note, the respite offered by the sunrise a stark contrast to the trials they had endured. They stood on the precipice of escape, ready to leave behind the horrors of Bear Country and the burden of Jack's haunted past. As they boarded the helicopter, a sense of liberation enveloped them, knowing that the nightmare was drawing to a close
