I want to clarify something right from the start: my body doesn't fall into the extremes of being extremely skinny or very chubby. It lies somewhere in the middle. In terms of weight, I am around what is considered average for my height. However, according to Korean beauty standards, I am considered fat.

One thing of my body that I truly hate are my stretch marks. It doesn't matter how much cream or oil I apply to my body, they keep appearing on different parts of my body, for example: my legs, belly or breasts. These marks act as a constant reminder of how i look like, and it can be painful to see them from time to time despite my efforts to get rid of them.

I'm incredibly grateful that my childhood friends, Zack and Mira, continue to stand by my side despite everything, including how I look. They never judge me, and that means the world to me.

Lost in my thoughts, I was startled when the teacher wrapped up his discussion about the upcoming school trip. Panic rushed through me as I realized I had completely forgotten about it. I glanced over to Zack, noticing that Mira was absent due to illness. Zack wanted to skip school as well, but he decided to come because he didn't want me to be alone.

As the bell rang, mentioning it's the end of class, I walked over to Zack and called his name. "Zack?" I said, trying to get his attention. He turned towards me and replied, "What is it, y/n?"

I hesitated for a moment before asking, "Where exactly are we going for the school trip? I totally forgot..." I attempted to laugh off, hoping it would lighten the situation.

With a calm expression, Zack responded, "We're going to the beach." My heart sank upon hearing those words. The beach? That was the last place I wanted to go, especially to swim, considering my body.

Zack glanced at y/n, noticing her troubled expression, and asked with concern, "Hey, what's wrong?" But y/n, not wanting to burden him or reveal her insecurities, decided to play it off and shrugged, saying, "Ah, nothing really. Just lost in my thoughts, I guess."

As the day of the beach trip arrived, y/n felt a knot of uneasiness in her stomach. She knew that there were activities planned for the students to participate in, many of which involved wearing swimsuits and engaging in beach-related fun. However, she made up her mind to not partake in those activities, choosing to sit on the warm sand and observe the other girls from her class having fun instead.

As she watched her classmates playing in the water, y/n couldn't help but feel jealous. They seemed so carefree and confident, their bodies slim and seemingly perfect. It only made her insecurities about herself worse. She really wanted to have the same level of confidence and self-assurance as Mira and all the other girls, especially for Zack.

In the midst of her thoughts, Zack approached y/n and sat down beside her. His face was full of concern, and he gently asked, "Are you sure nothing's bothering you? You seem a little distant."

Hesitant at first, y/n debated whether to open up to him. However, she quickly shook off the idea, not wanting to burden him with her insecurities. She forced a smile and replied, "Really, Zack, I'm fine. Just enjoying the view and the cool ocean breeze. It's a beautiful day."

However, Zack could see through her and knew something was wrong. He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the dorms where they were staying at with their classmates.

Y/n was taken aback by Zack's sudden burst, but she followed him in silence. They entered the dorm room that Zack shared with a few other students. Zack closed the door behind them and locked it, causing y/n's heart to race with anxiety.

Feeling cornered, y/n stood against the door while Zack faced her, his expression filled with irritation. He demanded answers, his voice filled with urgency and concern. Sensing that she couldn't hide her insecurities any longer, y/n took a deep breath and confessed her deepest fears, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Zack listened intently, his gaze not leaving her figure. Without uttering a word, Zack gently wiped away her tears, his touch offering comfort to her. Then, unexpectedly, he leaned in, his lips meeting hers in a tender and heartfelt kiss.

As their lips touched, a surge of emotions flowed between them. Which left her shocked but eventually she kissed him back. The world seemed to fade away as they shared that connection, a moment where y/n felt a glimmer of hope and acceptance within herself. The weight of her insecurities momentarily lifted, replaced by the warmth of Zack's kiss.

When they finally pulled away, their eyes met, and y/n looked into his eyes. He whispered softly, "You are beautiful, y/n. Inside and out. Never forget that."
