the girls were in the gym. cheering erupted from the bleachers when they ran out. hannah's smile widened as she looked at everyone who was cheering for them, for her. it made her heart flutter. she looked around at her team and stopped to look at shauna. the brunette looked back at her and smiled. hannah's smile grew larger just looking at her. she felt butterflies in her stomach.

after the pep rally, the girls went back into the locker room to get changed. hannah was getting her shirt on when she felt a tap on her shoulder. she turned around before she had her shirt on and saw shauna standing there.

"oh, shauna! do you need something?", hannah asked.

"i was wondering if you wanted to come with jackie and i to my house after we're done here? we're gonna get ready for the party tonight and i wanted you to be there.", shauna said.

hannah smiled. "yes, i would love too! let me go tell van."

hannah ran off to go tell her sister. she couldn't find her in the locker room so she went to the bathroom. she heard weird noises in one of the stalls. it sounded like someone was getting hurt.

"van? are you in here?", hannah asked.

she pushed open one of the stall doors and saw van and tai making out.

"oh my god!", hannah exclaimed.

"jesus christ.", tai said softly.

the two girls fixed their clothes and hannah looked away quickly. van ran out of the stall and went to go stand with her sister.

"you were not supposed to see that. sorry, hannah.", van apologized.

"i'd like to assume i wasn't supposed to see that! i thought you and tai were keeping it on the down low? what the hell is this?", hannah asked.

van leaned against the sink and crossed her arms. "tai and i were talking and-"

"i didn't see a lot of talking going on.", hannah interrupted.

van slapped her arm. "we talked before we made out, shit head, and anyways tai and i talked and we want to tell the team, after nationals obviously, that we're dating. i know it's like illegal or whatever but i don't care. i really like tai and i want everyone to know it."

she took taissa by the hand and held it tightly. hannah knew van was the happiest when she was with tai. she just wish that she had the confidence to do what van and tai were going to do.

"that's great, van. now back to my original question, do you mind if i go to shauna's after school to get ready for the party tonight?", hannah asked.

van laughed. "jesus, hannah, i really couldn't care less. i'll see you there."

hannah hugged her sister and ran off. she grabbed the rest of her stuff out of her locker and went to go see shauna. she didn't mind hanging out with both jackie and shauna. she just didn't want to break up their stupid ass fights every single time they hung out.

hannah hopped in the back of shauna's car and they drove off to shauna's house.

"i can't believe we're going to nationals. it's going to be the craziest week of our whole lives.", jackie said.

hannah leaned forward to join the conversation. "i know! i'm not going to sleep tonight, i swear."

shauna laughed. "i'm so proud of our team. i know i'm being corny or whatever but i'm proud of us. we did good."

shauna looked back and smiled at hannah. the redhead smiled back but looked at jackie who didn't look very pleased. jackie put her hand on shauna's thigh and hannah's smile dropped. she knew of jackie and shauna's weird relationship/friendship but she didn't want to acknowledge it.
