Silent Voices

Chapter 1

     "Cassidy, time to wake up." Her mother calls out while nudging her shoulder. Cassidy wakes up and rubs her eyes. She looks over at the clock. It's already 12:00. She gets out of bed and walks slowly to her closet. It's her little sister's birthday. She picks out a nice dress and begins to put it on. The long navy blue dress really contrasts with her tan skin. Her long black hair falls halfway down her back. The dress has a slit halfway up her thigh, showing off her long legs. She decides to wear her hair up in a bun, showing her back through the opening in the dress. She looks around for her heels, but she can't find them anywhere. After an hour of looking, she finally finds them under her bed. They are torn up, and the heels are completely broken off of them.
     "Dammit... That was my favorite pair..." She heaves a long sigh. "I guess I'll have to buy a new pair..." She throws on a pair of black heels and heads to the nearest store.

     "Hello ma'am, what can I help you with today?" An employee says with a smile on her face.
     "I'm looking for a pair of silver heels, do you have any?"
     "What size?"
     "5..." She stares at the employee, waiting for her to fetch the shoes. After a few minutes the employee regains her focus and heads off to look for the shoes.
     "Here you go miss, that will be $10,000." She continues to smile.
     "Thanks..." Cassidy hands over the money, replaces her shoes, and leaves.

     Once she gets home, she heads back to her room and grabs the present for her sister. She heads down to her sister's room. To her surprise, no one's in there. She continues to look around the house, without any luck. She leaves to go look for them at a Japanese steakhouse, her sister's favorite food.

When she arrives at the steakhouse, she feels lighter. She collapses, but not to the ground. Someone caught her. Did she get drugged? After a few seconds, she loses all consciousness.
