"I'll sleep in the guest room."

Mile begins to carry his pillows and stretches his right arm to reach for the blue blanket, when his husband, Apo, holds and squeezes it as if he's begging.

"You cannot avoid having a conversation with me every damn time, Mile. At some point, we're going to have to confront all of them."

"Oh, so you think I'm being a coward for not talking about it?"

"Honestly, yes. If you want to talk, I'm here in our bed, eyes and ears open."

Mile stares at his husband. As much as he tried to deny how stunningly handsome Apo is, all attempts are futile at this point. His husband owns a hazelnut brown eyes that give off a copperish tone when the light shines onto them, alongside with that seamless tanned skin that seems to glimmer everytime the sun kisses it. There's more to him that makes his stomach tighten: he stands 6 foot, his hair, shoulder-length and ties it into a bunch when he's not too lazy, and his love for vintage is what made Mile swoon over him.

But their marriage has long grown into something a lot deeper than just satisfying the public eye using their visuals. It has been a long while since they've achieved a stable marriage; what they want is a child.

"Really? You wanna talk about how you came home at 3:25 am from a pub seven streets away, drunk and disoriented, and how you proceeded on talking about Eye and how your life could have been a lot different if you married her instead? You are crazy!"

"I- I don't know... I- I can't take it back, I can't. But come on Mile, I was wasted I couldn't even remember who took me home!"

"Ha! See? You're so-"

"Slutty?"

Mile almost stopped breathing as Apo stabs him with that one word.

"Say it, Mile. I know you've been wanting to call me that. Just fucking say it to my face and get it over with."

Tears are slowly becoming evident in Apo's lower eyelashes. He's unaware how red his lower lip is from all the anxious biting.

"That's not- that's not true. I- I meant to say you were stubborn and you always give me things to worry about."

"Shut up and do whatever you want. I'm so tired of all this shit."

Mile felt a pang on his chest, as if a bullet went straight inside him. He wanted to hug his husband, caress him, tell him he would never think awful things about him as he is the one he loves, kiss him lovingly, and stay beside him for the night.

But his pride is a force that brought his feet to the guest room.

"Where's Apo?"

"Good morning, Mile. He went to work an hour ago."

A definite bad start for his day. He can't believe he'll be spending breakfast alone because of a fight.

"Did he at least eat before going?"

"Mile, you know me. I would never allow any of you to go to work with an empty stomach. Stop worrying now."

He felt a pinch in his stomach. He can't quite determine if it was disappointment for he'll be eating alone, or guilt because he realized he hasn't cared much for his husband and other people are making it up for him. He sat down wearily, placed his hands up to cover his face- a gesture of massive stress. He can feel a lump forming in his throat along with the tears trying to force themselves out of his eyes.

"I don't want to dive into your married life, but I'm not blind and deaf, you know. In fact, I am quite the opposite."

"Nanny, I'm so sorry if you have to see all of this mess. You've been with me all my life. I could've gone mad if you weren't here."

"The two of you don't tell me anything. I just listen here, downstairs, as your fight became a nightly routine."

She grabs Mile's face tightly so that he faces her.

"You two need space. For 5 months, you haven't talked about it, and you'll never find the opportunity to do so as long as the both of you are mad at one another. Your hearts are wounded and you keep adding salt to the wounds every time you talk."

Mile is already sobbing. "I don't want to lose him, nanny. I'll die."

"And yet you can't even talk to him properly without getting mad. I'm not saying that you two should get a divorce, but you two need time to think things over."

"You're late."

Apo enters the bedroom, tired and worn out after a day of work as the interim CEO of his daddy's business. His tie has been loosened already, his hair's a mess, and creases are evident all over his shirt.

And he didn't answer his husband.

Mile breathed heavily after receiving no response. He can feel his face turn red and hot of embarrassment. As he looks up once more to take a glance at his husband, his heart skipped a beat.

"Plane ticket to Alaska... Just one ticket... What the hell's this?"

"I need you to sit down so that we can talk about that."

"You're leaving me? Is that what you're planning?"

"Po, for God's sake, take a se-"

Apo's cheeks are smothered with tears as he took a step towards his husband. His heart seems to want to get out of his chest. His mind is in total disarray. Mile? His best friend, lover, husband... leaving him?

"Let me expla-"

"Fuck you! Fuck. You! You are the worst man in this entire world! You liar deceitful bastard!"

"Po, please. It is not what you're thinking!"

"Leave me! Go and leave me! This marriage ain't going to work out anyway! I knew it since we received that news that I am sterile. Go and fuck other people because I am done!!"

Apo slammed the door and left Mile behind, out of breath.
