ASHLEY EVAN'S PERSPECTIVE
"Be slow to fall into friendship, but when thou art in, continue firm and constant." was something my Dad told me when I started school. I've never had trouble making friends, ever. But something about it has worried me ever since I've been living in Detroit. I moved here this summer and haven't gotten to talk to many people my age, so maybe starting freshmen year, things around here will change!
TYLER: Ash, you want me to drive you? Or are you taking the bus?
ASHLEY: I think I'll start taking the bus so I know where to go 'case you can't drive me.
TYLER: 'ight. I'll see you after school and make sure to lock the door cuz ian' getting in trouble again for your mistakes.
ASHLEY: Whatever.
I go down the stairs to get some cereal but before I even open the pantry, I hear the bus stopping around the corner! I quickly put my shoes on and check myself in the mirror before I start running down the street with my school bag. Out of breath, I catch the bus and I sit in the front. The bus driver stops one last time around the corner and I see 3 boys get on. A tall one with weird looking glasses, a neat , vest wearing Jewish boy, and a cute boy with a nice smile. When we arrived at McKinley, I went straight to the office to pick up my schedule. To cure some of my anxiety, I went to the restroom to make sure I looked decent and didn't embarrass myself. I guess I lost track of time worrying about how I looked and before I knew it, the bell rang! And of course my first class was across the school.
SAM WEIR'S PERSPECTIVE
NEAL: So you're saying you didn't talk to Cindy all summer? Not even a call? Dude just break up with her.
SAM: I wanna talk to her first- oh there she is! Hey Cindy!
CINDY: Hi Sam! How was your summer?
SAM: Cindy, why didn't you call me? Like at all? Every time I called you it went to voicemail.
CINDY: I was busy. You know I had cheer camp as well. Why can't you remember anything?
BILL: Sam, don't let her talk to you like that..
*BELL RINGS*
SAM: We'll talk later Cindy.CINDY: Whatever. I gotta go.
ASHLEY EVAN'S PERSPECTIVE
Of course, when I walked in all eyes are on me. Great.
MR. CRUZ: And you're....
ASHLEY: Ashley Evans.
MR. CRUZ: Yes! Of course. Well Ashley, you're late. First tardy of the school year on the first day isn't good. Take a seat next to Bill, the boy with the glasses back there.
Just my luck, I already embarrassed myself and I have to sit next to the weird kid.
MR. CRUZ: Class, before we start learning anything, let's get to know one another. Turn to the person next to you and introduce yourselves!
