Izuku didn't recall how long he had been in Katsuki's arms or how long he silently cried, but it was long enough to make his entire body throb and grow sore.
Izuku couldn't even remember making it home, but he knew once he was sitting on his couch in a state of shock.
At some point, Izuku showered, changed into his pajamas, and made his way out of his room only to fall asleep. When he woke up, Izuku was curled up with his mother on the couch. Inko had been worried, but Katsuki explained Izuku had a rough day at school and was most likely processing what happened.
Inko wasn't going to press, but she knew she needed to be there for her son. She didn't know much about the blond and she wasn't going to act like she did. Her son had a falling out with her best friend's son. She hadn't seen Katsuki since they last had a play date when they were four.
Even as the years passed by, Inko and Mitsuki stayed in touch. They wished each other happy birthday every year and occasionally caught up on the phone or ran errands together.
Everything Inko knew about Katsuki was through Mitsuki. It was safe to say Katsuki still acted like he did as a child. He was exactly like his mother.
Katsuki brought Izuku home safely and for that, Inko couldn't thank the boy enough. She wasn't aware of the bullying so she couldn't help but believe that Katsuki still cared about Izuku and would take care of him. Fortunately, this day would be the start of Izuku and Katsuki repairing their friendship.
"Common, let's eat," cooed Inko, guiding Izuku to the kitchen where she prepared Katsudon.
Izuku took one bite of crispy, yet tender pork cutlet and started sobbing. The warm food touched his tongue and he felt every ounce of love Inko poured into it. The reminder of her unconditional love was something he so desperately needed at that moment.
After eating the majority of his meal, Izuku finally felt ready to talk about the situation. With a deep breath, Izuku opened up to Inko about everything that had been going on.
Izuku came out first, wanting to have that reveal be by itself. Inko was surprised but held her child close.
"My baby. It's okay. I'd never see you any different. I love you so, so much Izuku," cried Inko, nuzzling her cheek against Izuku before wiping away his tears and kissing his forehead fondly.
Izuku smiled as Inko effortlessly cheered him up. There was no love like the unconditional love from his mother. Nothing Uchimura had ever done truly made him feel special unless he was doing whatever Uchimura wanted. Unlike his mother, he didn't need to do acts of service to earn love.
Inko wasn't afraid to boast about her son and talk about him. Inko didn't hide Izuku's quirklessness to save herself some face. Inko gave up a happy life with Hisashi to stay put and take care of her son.
Izuku would sacrifice everything for those he loved. Uchimura sacrificed nothing. Inko sacrificed everything.
As Izuku started to retell everything that happened, he was really happy he chose not to keep this a secret. Izuku talked about his history with Uchimura from beginning to end. Izuku let out the details about his first kiss and that he lost his virginity. Some things were better left unsaid.
Inko sympathized with her son because she too had been in the same boat. While she had been much older than Izuku, she still did the same thing.
Inko and Hisashi met in the spur of the moment. They had only been dating for a year when they decided to get married. Less than a year later, Izuku came along.
Hisashi didn't want a child and Inko wasn't planning on terminating her pregnancy or giving away her baby. Inko gave birth at twenty-five and kept her word. Izuku Midoriya was going nowhere.
